The correct example is given in the guide.

I changed the port though to match your auth.opt if you are using the original auth. Looks like you are using the same auth port in glandu2's emulator also if you decide to go that way. Yet you do give a conflicting port in the common.opt

Do me and everyone else a favor try not to blend the two different .opt files if you use the original princess stick to the one you have.

If you use glandu2's auth emulator stick to the examples written in that post with modification of your auth port. Your auth.opt for glandu2's emulator has far too much information in it that is repeated in the common.opt but with different ports listed.

If you are getting client errors trying to run the client on a computer start with the computer basics.

Perform a clean start where you will not get 100 other things running in the background at start up and try the game again.

If it works restart without the clean start and eliminate one thing at a time from your processes list until you find the conflict.

im getting "Network error connection timed out" when i attempt to start the Rappelz auth emu. any suggestion on what i should do? ive opened the port on my firewall and turned off my modems firewall and its still that same. tried portforwarding all three ports and its still the same

Did you configure the .opt files to connect to your SQL server?

Are you running the auth emulator on the same computer running the sql server? If you are you shouldn't have to worry about firewalls and routers and forwarding yet.

I cant remember exactly but you may have to configure an ODBC data source connection for your SQL server.

I know web servers use it to connect to the database but I can not remember if the auth emulator needs one or not.

Well it will be difficult for me to find out...seeing as I already have a configured ODBC connection on my computer to handle the website connection.

Just in case it is simply an opt file issue if you post them here I may be able to help out with that.

If it is an ODBC connection you can configure one through Windows and once you do it will correct your connection issue if that was the issue.
