Hi, first of all, sorry for the inactive time on my side and the uninformation to you all.

I'd like to explain the situation clearly. Myth is about to have 1 year running, and things changed a lot since then. First of all, this was my first experience as a server administrator. In general, it was a really positive experience, very time-consuming, but in the end it was worth it.

As you probably know, everything worked fairly well before we added the Arabia update. Server wasn't very populated, but we had an stable gameplay and a good community supporting it (without any doubt, I'm pretty sure Myth got so far the best community on SRO pserver scene).

But things changed when I added Arabia. No one cared about myth on the past because it was a low populated server without bots and low rates, but once we added Arabia, we got everyone's attention, because we were the first server with it fully working, including the official servers. After that, the nightmare began. Attacks every day, lags, constant hosting migrations, it became really hard for both you, the players, and us, the admins to keep it working as it was in the past. We were an small team, we weren't expert on security stuff or something, so the situation overwhelmed us. This is where I gave the control of the server to Tronics, which did an amazing work on protecting the server and give it stability, so while there was still some lags, it was playable and on most part of the time. This was back on October-November 2012.

But the point of the topic is to announce what is happening next, so I will give exact information. Back when Myth started, we were getting around 800$ monthly, and the hosting we used was around 600$/month (2 servers). It was a happy world, no protection needed at all, and hosted directly on europe, so lag was never a problem. *********** takes 2 months to give you the money you earn, so I had to spent 2k$ +/- from my personal savings to keep it running until *********** did the first payout. Anyway, the months were going, the amounts didnt change, we had some problems with DDoS attacks but not too important, the income was stable and so on. Then the summer came, and we added Arabia on Myth. Attacks began, and server was barely on 1 or 2 hours per day, huge attacks, impossible to access the server at all, which made me piss off a lot. I started looking for protection solutions, but all of them were out of my pocket, it became obvious to me that keep the same quality level and keep the server on wasn't possible anymore.

I was already thinking about closing myth, because I wasn't able to control it anymore, plus other legal problems related with my country (all the money I got came directly into my bank account, and even while I only kept 10% of it because 90% left went to the hosting bills and paying other stuff (creeper/sherlock/nagato), it was undeclared money and soon or later it would become a problem that could ruin me in real life), it was when Tronics appeared and offered me a deal. I only wanted to keep Myth on, so after many talks I accepted and he took care of Myth until the current days. In exchange I gave him the full income, the control of Myth, and a promise of some work for him that I'm still doing. Tronics did an amazing job, Myth would be gone for months ago if it wasn't for him, but the problem is that currently the whole concept of Myth as it is right now is not rentable. The income is around the same (a bit less) than what it was back then (700-800$), but the spents on hosting and protection are way higher than it was back then, which makes Myth a money hole, and I don't want Tronics to deal with it anymore just for help me.

So, what is the future of Myth?

I really don't want it gone, and I think still lots of stuff can be done on it, but we have to also change many core stuff on it.
So what we want to do is:

- Close the current Myth
- Migrate the whole Myth features and systems to v188 files
- Get back the old job system
- Add new features and improve the old job system
- Allow botting
- Start over from scratch, giving the same chances to old and new players
- Compensate old players with special visual stuff, such as unique titles, and special dress, and so on
- Add more end-content to the game
- And more...

Appart of the technical reasons (char data migration cannot be done from 193 -> 188), the mentioned start-over is another reason of why the wipe will be done. New client and server are required. It will take me few months to put the features that Myth have on the v188 files, so it won't happen right now, the server will stay alive for few weeks.

Future of Silkroad? There isn't one if it keeps going like it is now. It's all about "Add-Every-Item-,-Make-It-OP-And-Sell-It-For-Real-Money" no other purpose. Sad thing was, most Peoples are just ignorant and arrogant, whining over Rates and because of this we have the current State.

Sadly such a Server like Myth Online is on Hold now because everyone fought over the Rates like Idiots *lol* instead sticking to a Community that could have been the greatest at all ...

Kids needs to stop using mBot, another Reason why every Server is dying cuz of the massive Amounts of Goldbots and such stuff but hell, nobody gets this because they're like "Oh shit, imma want to be the best and that fast". Isn't it somehow Ironic that everyone left iSRO because of the Goldbot Amounts ? I must say keep going, if nothing changes this MMORPG is surely dying 100% and don't blame Joymax for it, the Community made the Game since when does Bots need "New Monsters" and "New Items" when it comes to "Recycled Monsters/Items". If you don't get it, you're still stucked in 2007/2008.

It depends if you allow Bots or not. Surely if you just put up a Rule that forbids Bots it is Indeed useless. If you're hunting them Ingame plus Banning them, then the Community will react to it so they will either stop it or continue it.

No matter how hard you try to defend your Server from incoming Bots, there always will be Peoples who are trying to decrypt the Client to use mBot, maybe KDBot or in the other case Autoselect + a Keypress.

Problem with the Community at this moment is, if you're too strict with your Rules they gonna leave/hate/whine or whatever they got to complain.

If you ignore your own Rules they gonna kill your Server in no time in terms of Abusing Exploits, Botting, Religion Wars and much more (Obvious isn't it?...)

I designed our server in a way that you dont need to bot. Im not worried about people getting mbot or other ****, as a matter of fact I want to see them breaking rules so I can go round the map banhammering them which, by the way, not a single server in the history of silkroad has done so far (except zszc if im not mistaken back when they were putting up notices on who got banned).

Myth had a BIG fund problem sometimes synx was paying from his own money for the rents he told us that when he was going to work in ludo also i believe (Not sure) that the hidden reason of synx quitting SRO not just the "Legal" problems he said he had i believe he got a serious fund problem but he wanted the cool way out. Also i find your whole comment quite funny you missed the general point i am trying to say and start focusing on the names, you shouldn't because shitty servers are quite alot Playsro,glory,blaze and the list will keep growing so you shouldn't leave the whole idea just to discuss which server is more shitty.

Why? It's possible to make a server that "doesn't require" bots (I hate saying that, it seems like there are servers that require bots) to be successful.
