Sorry for probably silly question but...

I've got russian version and I'm boried with playing in russian dialogs I wanted to switch to english and found the problem (I didn't checked the forums last months to be honest - hard working time...). I found your patch and want to aply but don't know in which moment should I use it? After downloading a client, it's downloading the game in the basic form for playing and the battlenet.dll file is available. Should I patch it now and play or should I wait for downloading whole game? There was some info about "english language pack" at the beginning of this post - where should I look for it? Should I install it also? When and how and where?

Sorry for this, but I really don't know how to use your great work and I don't want to break something (get banned i.e.)

Thanks for an answer.

You have to download the english language files first if you want to play in english!

Open the file "C:\ProgramData\Battle.net\Agent\agent.db" (Win7) and search for the entry "selected_locale". Replace the term "ruRU" with "enGB".
Seatch for "patch_application_complete" and make sure its value is "false".
Save the file and start the Diablo III. The launcher now proceeds to check for the English language files and whether they need to be downloaded again.


After downloading is finished you can use ColdFever-NoEx or WPE Bypass to log in.

Someone can make a feedback ?

On the last update, the modified b.net.dll occurs a bug, so i had to uninstall/reinstall game. My advice, before launch the game, replace the modified ".dll" with the origin, make the update, and replace again the file.

Got the next stage of the VM-Solution working. It's based on Tiny Core Linux and needs 138MB disk space (18MB packed). I'll release it after the patch.

I can't say which way is better - modifying Blizzard-files (ColdFever-NoEx), running a program to change the network-traffic (WPE or the necrothingy) or routing the traffic to another machine which does the adjustment (VM or whatever). But imho the first two solutions will increase the chance to be detected, because they are easier to track at a local machine and are used to cheat as long as anyone can remember.

Hallo,

Ich hätte da mal ein problem und zwar hat bis gestern noch alles funktioniert, aber als ich heute zocken wollte bin ich bis zum anmelde bildschirm gekommen habe mich eingeloggt und dann wurde mir gesagt das ich einen patch runterladen muss und in verbindung mit dem patch fenster habe ich direkt eine windows meldung bekommen "Das Programm Funktioniert nicht"

Was zum henker kann ich jetzt machen ? Account weg schmeißen und nochmal 50€ ausgeben und hoffen das der key dieses mal nicht aus russland kommt ?

@BlehMe fine only 138 mb? thats nice i played with some dsl linux and have 200 mb used. so thats rlly n1 i'm waiting for ya vm, also for the python script . i never code in python before thats very exiting how u accomplished this problem

Hi all, i do this fix in my windows PC and it works really fine, but im trying to do the same in my mac,.. so im trying to use wireshark to edit the packets,... but i dont know how to do that... do anyone know how to do it?? thnx to all

lol wireshark is only a network analyser nothing more. u can watch ur traffic in ur network. THATS ALL. U CAN'T modify TRAFFIC! there re a small amount of software which can modify ur traffic as wpe pro. so if u found a software u can share this piece of code with us. u can only monitor ur network with wireshark nothin else.

thnx yehowah... i was bored about searching ninformation for this kind of software and a friend tell me that wireshark does...maybe he was wrong.... i will try to find any software for mac to do that.... i tried to run WPE pro with wine... but it doesnt work

Keep in mind one thing - make this "tool" or whatever it is as simple as possible, e.g. - starting and .exe, installing, starting, playing. Because 95% of people do NOT have any Virtual Boxes / VMwares, and any other virtual machines (from home users). They're usually for businesses or 5% of home users for tests, waste of time, etc.

Hi BlehMe,

All solutions are easily detectable, as I explained to yehohaw before. All Warden needs to do is compare the language being used by the client against the language sent in the locale information.

Also, there is no way around this. If it's being done, Warden will detect it.

If Blizzard will ban anyone, it's a whole different story. SC2 players use a similar scheme and no one has ever been banned about it.

Regarding "which is best", I honestly don't believe there is a better alternative. It's a matter of choice.

However, some pro-cons:

1) ColdFever-NoEx's (from a former reverser to another, greets my friend) is hardcoded, "run and forget", until next patch. Also, it's harder to change the language, not very newbie-friendly. Windows only.

2) Language liberator (mine) needs to be run whenever the player runs the game, can easily select language, newbie-friendly. Windows only.

3) VM Solution, "run and forget" (while VM is running that is), language can be changed, extremely not newbie-friendly. All OSs.

Just keep this in mind: all solutions are easily detectable.
