Ah, but who said people like me wouldn't be thankful? Someone like myself would respond to that by giving back to the community. Not everyone would, but there are still some that would.
The deal is it's obvious information is already shared by the "elites". At least some that are on good terms with each other and aren't ddos'ing or hacking. Why do they "give up" their hard work to each other then? Because they've proven themselves? Then what does it take to be "worthy"?
Perhaps it's just an issue with heirarchy. There is no established system anymore since UG and Lv2 fell through.

i think epvp has had its day, but now its just going to continue to go down hill

And my point is that because the majority won't give back, that means to deny the ones that would by keeping everything under lock and key?

The worst that'd happen by releasing something is there are a lot of questions regarding it.. but doesn't that drive more traffic here and possibly encourage more people to get into it?

All cryptography (and implementations!) has been released except the new password cryptography. The majority of packets with the corresponding processing have been released in sources spread out through the years. There have been plenty of stable bases that no one uses because it requires some work to set up or they have no features (see for an example of work required). We're giving back to the general population just fine. Also, I think the lack of information to the public provides more variety with releases.

Its worth noting i think that there is a hierarchy, its just not based on a forum, those who are deemed to be i suppose worthy and responsible enough can and do get access to things like the latest password encryption, so really theres no problem with people getting access to it in that sense. Just because you cant find it on a forum doesnt mean its not available to people, they just have to speak to the relevant people (tat amount to speaking to the right people to get access to UG/L2)

Ultimation already thought of a solution for that, which would be the "Level" system. Is it all coming together now?.....

I don't get the point of your emphasizing that at all. I've already said the level system revamped would be good for here.

@Ultimation - The levels idea is great. I've thought about that before, but to my knowledge, underground is hell to get access to.

Its all about how you ( as a dev ) contribute to the community, take you and pro4never for example:
You made Lateralus client which was amazing and free too, a while after everyone started claiming it their own and leeching it all over the place which resulted in closing the free version and turning it into a pay-to-use thus leading to you quitting on it because of the changes that TQ keeps making and the lake of people who are interested in it even tho it was cheap as hell.
pro4never on the other hand made a step by step on how to create a proxy and he did one hell of a job with it.
Your contribution ended because it was ( leechable ), pro's contribution is still out there for the simple fact that a leecher cant get **** out of it, on the other hand a person who is here to actually learn something got almost everything he needed from it.

Good point. I was applying the knowledge I had, since I can't teach very well, and I sure as hell can't teach better than lena151's tutorials on another website. Teaching how to accomplish a certain task with olly isn't easy or helpful at all, since you can lead up to the result all you want, but if you skip ahead to the end of the tutorial, you'll get "change this instruction to this at this address".

its the newbies of the community that have put it in this shape. not the people who contributed.

I am always more interested on how to get the address than what to change it to.
