Blaming a major corporation for your lack of a proper backup is just immaturity to be honest bud, I would reconsider your position on it if I were you.

You know, you're probably right. My hard drives are fine, but I have no clue what the status of my memory is. Who knows though - to be safe, I'm sticking with a familiar operating system that's never given me a problem. I prefer Windows 7 anyways. If it happens again, then we'll know for sure that it's not the operating system. Calling me immature btw for ignorance is kinda negative. This project is my educational experiment after all. Again, I'm looking into backup methods. I think I'm going to add a post-build event that copies each project (excluding the bin folder). I'll backup the database and bin's database folders every afternoon using Norton 360's backup utility. I don't feel secure using svn, but maybe someone could enlighten me about a secure hosting solution for svn projects (since I'd like to start using it).

I already copied 0B files due to long USB cable through my screen, and than to the hard drive... Probably messed up somewhere although an USB cable should support up to like 5 meters... Anyway, I doubt it memory, it would had shown more drastic problems already. But, I used to test all my new memory with memtest on Mac OS X, I know there is a Windows equivalent, so, maybe take a look ! And for the hard drive, normally, it's handled fine.
Anyway, on another note, for SVN, I used Assembla, which offers a basic plan for free and private repositories, but most features like Wiki, Issues are disabled if it's not open-source, so, on that point, I dislike. Else, I moved to Git as it is more powerful on bunch of features, so I moved to Bitbucket, which offers mostly all functionalities for free. An excellent solution. Plus, as Git is a bit more difficult to learn, generally, it is easier to move to SVN after. SVN still has it advantages...

It turns out the Kibou is too big for the reputable, closed project sites, so I'm just going to stick with Dropbox (but this time upload the entire project). I need more room though. Atm, I have just enough... but that's not going to last long. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know I could and get 500MBs per invite.

Meh. I could make you an account on my server. (N.B. RAID 1, so it's safe) Still have around 1 TB of hard drive free... I just completely dislike the DropBox option.

RAID 1 isnt safe o.O, dropbox is orders of magnitude safer than that lol. My advice would be to get a free Team Foundation Service account setup, to my knowledge there is no size limit.

RAID 1 isn't the safer things. But the probability that both disks fail at same time tend to be null. I think for a failure rate of 5% on each disk, for an array of two disks, it's less than 0.50%.
And clearly DropBox will be safer as they need to be for its business, but the point was that it's not only one disk that may fail at any time and loose all his data.

RAID 1 protects you from hardware failures yes, however if there is a file table corruption for example you loose the data on both disks and have to go through the very long process of recovering the data, why? Because the RAID array will just replicate the corruption bit for bit on both disks.
RAID 1 should never be used if you are worried about your data.

Yes, but I rarely saw a file table corruption... In general, file systems are greatly designed to avoid this kind of flaws. But, I do agree that RAID 1 only protects you for hardware failure, and that the best would be to use also another RAID level with parity node. But, with 2 disks, it is kind of limited for what I can do. (I still accept suggestion as I'm really not a pro in RAID )

And Fang, I checked BitBucket, and it is unlimited size. But, maybe you checked only SVN hosts.

Depending on the controller your using you can use Raid 5 on 2 disks, though I would recommend Raid 6 with 3/4 disks if you were really concerned.

Just asking but how much space do you need? Dropbox has several free offers giving you 200MB each and since you're a uni student, the great space race (not sure if it's called that) also gives you a few GB.

Project Kibou (with my source, tools, photoshop files, pictures, research, current edited client, resources, etc.) comes to 8.67 GBs. My dropbox has 8.2GBs as a limit, so I need to get a few references going.

As Kiyono said, you should take advantage of the Space Race, which is giving 25GB to your account, my DropBox account has 30GB thanks to that.
