Don't worry they will change to Gameguard. XLGames already decided that and this is just some random blabla from Trion because they won't pay for XL to make the current version support Gameguard so they have to wait until the game is at the version that supports Gameguard.
Since the deal with Hackshield ends they can no longer offer it so they have to go without until the game is up to date for Gameguard.

Well, XL Games can't decide what anticheat system Trion uses. That's the best thing about it. Straight from the new patch notes:

"SECURITY PROGRAM CHANGE

This update will remove HackShield. HackShield has reached the end of its support life cycle from AhnLabs, and the group has decided to move out of the online game security business.

As some of you may be aware, the Korean version of ArcheAge has made the decision to adopt GameGuard in place of HackShield. We are testing GameGuard extensively on our internal environments, but we have requested additional functionality and stability requirements before we officially add it to our version of the game. We will not add GameGuard to ArcheAge until those requirements have been met.

In addition to GameGuard, we are also pursuing alternate security methods and additional interim solutions. We intend for any inclusion of GameGuard to be a temporary solution until an alternate solution can be found."

To be honest it wouldn't really matter if they do change to gameguard cause im sure its still hackable I almost wish they would just because i would totally break out my tool kit for hacking gameguard just to see if I still have the magic xD. But really even if they persue alternatives the only anticheats out on the market is gameguard and punk buster in terms of what they could buy license wise. Molebox for packing but the issue with that is cost of resources it would be impossible for the game to run properly being packed into a single resource and it's still possible for people to hack and dump data out of it or packet editing. So they would need to pay for a custom made moddification and what ever it is would need to be client and also server made. Me and some friends made one which if you tried to modify anything you'd get banned by cpu hwid but the problem at the end of the day comes down to supporting all version's of windows including windows 10 since most people are changing to that now. And anyone who puts in alittle effort can hack anything even if it's really well encrypted.

Figured I would also add this in there I decided to load the mod without unloading it to see if any changes where made to the way xlgames2.dll and well it seems that is disabled which means it was a custom hook function which was only enabled during hacksheild loading in and loading out. Meaning you don't have to "load in" and "Load out" the client modifications you can yolo load them in and forget about it. So go have your fun without the annoyance <3

I guess we have a different view on that. Don't forget the anti-hack system needs to be integrated with the game so Trion can't decide it on their own either. Sure, we don't know the contract so it's hard to tell what they can and can't do with this.
I strongly believe however what I said above, the message you quoted from Trion is something to make the players believe they are working on something while in reality they can't do much. Compare it to some game bugs in previous patches, Trion released it like they didn't know while the bugs were known in korea and russian. Then they give us a message that they are 'working on it' while a patch is already available in korea in later versions, but we only get the patch in the same release version as korea did.

xtrap, punkbuster is useless and you can bypass hwid bans easily.



I'am looking through all the patch stuff now, will have an update if I can manage it tonite or tomorrow for everyone - now with hackshield gone I can candy-land this motherfucker to death

We no longer have to reroll the mods and scripts to avoid detection, would you recommend against this or can we just play with all up 24/7?

I've been with it on all rolled, all night, with no problems.

I've also had a packet editor running sniffing packets & ollydbg hooked to the client ( all on my main account ).

Will update later today, sorry if I'm being a bit slow, I'm trying to work on this and not be so ill at the same time

Is it possible for you to make the auto roll not roll on haunted chests?

I really want to use it on my alt, but I need the haunted chests on my main, so the auto roll is kind of useless for me :/
