When you use the terminal, there's a great thing that fills up automatically, it's the Shell History. This allows you to find the command lines you have previously entered. But it's not very convenient to explore, and especially if you're juggling several machines, each one has its own history and that's it
With the Atiun tool, named after a giant turtle in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series of books, you can replace your current Shell history with an SQLite database. Thus, Atuin will add extra context to your commands and allow you to quickly search through them.
Moreover, thanks to its optional fully encrypted synchronization system, your history can be shared between all your sessions and machines via an Atuin server, which is very practical.
