[RELEASE] MDE Tool - Create your own effects with custom 3D meshes!
Hello epvp,
today is the day I release something that many Metin2 modders have awaited for a very long time: my "MDE Tool" to import and export MDE meshes into 3DS Max.
The script is released under the : it is in maxscript (.ms), a very powerful scripting language which is integrated in 3DS Max and allows automation of tasks: it has both a GUI and the chance to create new menu items to load and save this kind of files.
It's very easy to use and requires no knowledge of the format itself (it's all handled internally), the only constraint is meshes need to be of the "Editable mesh" kind to be exported correctly.
Short import guide:
Go to the "Maxscript" menu > "Run Script..." and browse to the .ms file you downloaded. A GUI like this should appear:
Click on the "Import MDE" button and browse to the file you want to open:
The file will be loaded. It might take some time depending on its complexity and weight, and 3DS Max might hang for a while: just wait for a bit and you will see the meshes displayed in the viewport.
That's it! You will have the MDE file along with its animation (frames are adjusted automatically) loaded in 3DS Max, and you can now edit it (keep in mind that every frame is independent due to the MDE format itself).
Exporting is so easy that I won't even explain it... xD
Download is available .
Credits: martysama0134 for the Unwrap_UVW fix (sometimes texture animations didn't work).
Enjoy!

The WorldEditor and this tool serve two very different purposes. With the WorldEditor you can just use the MDE files in effects, adjust their color, speed and such things, while with my tool you can create new MDE files from 3D models.

Have you at least checked the two scripts? They are completely different, not only in the way they are written, but also in their functionality: the one you linked (as underlined by lollo_9_1) does not work properly, it scrambles UV coordinates and does not provide texture animation support, while mine does. Not to mention, mine was originally made in 2012, but it has been kept private until now for a series of reasons.

This one works with morph animations too? Or does it use another way?

For the import part, mesh animation is handled with vertex animation, while texture animation is done in a Unwrap_UVW modifier. Exporting is processed using snapshots, so there's no direct need for modifiers at all: just animate it the way you want it, and it will handle it for you (of course, if you want texture animation you still need the Unwrap_UVW modifier, but that's because 3DS Max does not support it in any other way).

If what you're saying is true and he's selling it for that much, I must say I am astonished. He was begging me to sell him my script for far less than that amount (because he didn't have much to spend, he said), but luckily I didn't sell to anyone at all.
If you people are so much after an importer/exporter for such a crappy file format, then you really haven't understood the potential of the metin2 source code yet.

[RELEASE] Metin2 Map Tool v1.2 - Create your own map :D
04/17/2020 - Metin2 PServer Guides & Strategies - 68 Replies
Hello guys,
there's another program here for you. This is a map software I made some months ago. I work a lot on it in my spare time and I hope it will be useful. With this software you can convert a Metin2 map into PNG images and vice versa, import/export server_attr file and create/import/export regen files. You can import an existent Metin2 map, edit it and export it again, or create a completely new map in PNG images and export it in Metin2 format.
Before starting, I want to give some...

[RELEASE] Item Create Tool [Software]
04/11/2013 - Metin2 PServer Guides & Strategies - 20 Replies
Hallo @ all
