Might i say something here?

If you just want to skip HSUpdate.exe executed, you can open Client.exe with hex editor,
then find the pattern '52 81 EC 0C 03 00 00 B9 C3 00 00 00' modify to 'EB 36 EC 0C 03 00 00 B9 C3 00 00 00'.

I'm sure this pattern works for current version of all servers at least.

Well, I ended up replacing the HShield folder with one from my last version of working pake. And kept UpdateSkip.dll in. And it worked. No Hackshield error. Everything loaded fine. Got to the character selection screen, and started the game. Then it crashes about 1/3 into loading. No error, just a generic Windows "client.exe has stopped responding". I don't really know where to go from here.

The .dll seems to work, because HShield never loads. However, it still crashes in the same spot every time (about 1/3 into the progress bar). Here's a screenshot of the error.

Few of my testers couldn't get it working, and I have NO clue why.

To expand on this. MNG wlll refuse to load the DLL.
In mng_startup.log it'll show that the DLL failed to load.

Every other error is caused by something else, and this particular error didn't hit EVERYONE only a select few.

That's basically what mine does, except I made a DLL cause I got tired of having to do the edit every revision.
Didn't expect my DLL to be shared though.

I'm currently trying some other options as well, but it appears that Hackslash does NOT work AT ALL for me. It's giving me the error "Only the Administrator can run this" (**** you too, hackslash).

For the players who were able to get it running on r100... What bypasses did you use?

Yep, I used Novichok AND *** 1.2. Still doesn't work for me. It worked fine in r99 =/
I'm thinking it needs a modded Client if you want to use Novi

Which version of HS should I be using?

Edit: Hackslash worked for a bit, then when I opened Alissa got the Hackshield error again

If I recall correctly, there was a .dll that fixed this problem for some members, but I can't pinpoint the right one.

So I have a Revision 58 HS, but that's buggy. Crashes me with an error at Start Screen; and a Revision 84 HS; but then that's so new...

Anyone care to share their Revision 84 > Hackshield Folder?

So I'm sure I set everything up perfectly, but for some reason my game just sticks on "logging in..." for a long time and then it just says "server cannot be reached"
