I believe it's run on an 'in-demand' basis, the team typically meet internally, often, to discuss which sections require moderators, if the section is deemed not active enough / high enough in reports, then they'll deem it as not necessary for now. That being said, keep up your activity and when the need arises they'll consider the application

If you specialise in any other game or section, you can also apply for that, and ask a Global Mod to kindly change the title of your thread. However, with how long you have been waiting, I would keep this one as it is.
