Yea I have been monitoring that situation all day. I appears that talking to any NPC was crashing the server. I did shut down the server for a while there to do further live testing. I've since applied an emergency patch for this so everything should be back to normal.

The following wasn't planned they are just coming along with the patch above.

Bug: Mob dies if a player dies in a party.
-- Patched: Ready for testing.
---- If you are in a party the mob should stay alive if one of you dies.
----- I was in process of advancing the code on this but I stopped for the NPC patch. Currently a mob will flat out disappear instead of die. Previously XP could be gained by doing this. This could be buggy atm like not despawn/die if your in a party and only one zones.

Bug: Sometimes you die when the mob dies.
-- Patched: Ready for testing.
---- This was a lol bug moment I found. I even had invincible on.

Bug: Talking to a NPC crashes the server.
-- Patched: Ready for testing.
---- I tried a few npcs that were crashing the server before the patch and they were working.

Bug: Auction house doesn't work.
-- Patched: Ready for testing.
---- You still can't sell stacks of items but singles appear to be working. Needs tested though.

thanks for the updates and what a shame you have less time for the server.
would be nice if you could put the server status here on forum, like online or offline bar or something...

You can easily break that limit with a patch found on google easily, I always do it on my XP machines for torrents, ect.

Items do show up on AH and can be purchased.
I can take my items off i put on.

***Bug***

Buying the item back i put on AH will crash it...
others can buy it seems tho, so that is good.

I am sure i crashed the server 2 times already...sorry

@Masterxz: It isn't that I have less time with the server. It is that I need to look into other aspects of it like the bug tracker and web server. I'm still patching out things/fixing things if they are dire enough.

@joe: Thanks, I already found that patch and applied it shortly after. Gotta love search!

@borfax: Yes, there was a bug with buying certain items.

Bug report

Paladin unlock quests chain

A Squire's test works properly
A Squire's test II is auto-complete (after receiving the quest just talk to npc again to complete it)
A Knight's test is also auto-complete but has a major bug that anyone can abuse
after completing and unlocking PLD, just talk to NPC again, and he will keep giving you a kite shield over and over again.

I was too high to try for both squire's test (see if he gives reward again) since he would give me the next quest in the chain since i had the level requirement.

DNC job flag npc doesnt work at all, so impossible to get DNC unless you unlock it for us.

I didnt try the other jobs atm, since i crashed the server (I get an error 4001 and 3113 again after talking to a NPC in san d'oria) cant get back online atm.

Note: I'm guessing SCH Flag NPC is not scripted as well to give the quest.

Lovely indeed! Unfortunately I'm not going to force the server to send you another packet so that it updates on your screen. Log out and back in before changing jobs to make sure your levels show up on your screen.

Problematic: no.
Inconvenient: Depends on the person.

My bad, I should have been more clear.

It PERMANENTLY reset my job levels to 1, I logged back in it was still level one and when I killed a mob I hit level 2 again.

Just be sure to log out before you use the changejob command. Especially if you leveled up.

The problem with the @changejob is that it was never 100% working in the first place. Players could set their level to anything they want but the command never took into consideration the player's current job/old job xp which doesn't carry with the command.

That aspect of the command is very problematic but the @commands are temporary and players should only be using them in dire emergencies/necessity. I'm unsure if I'll take the time to fix it.

Some of the mog houses do work, so use @zone F0 ...which is Port Windurst. Run all the way to the mog in port windy and you can use the moogle there to change jobs. That is most safe way to change and not have a problem. Don't use @zone ff cause when zoning into the mog with that command, for some reason the moogle won't appear. This is a test server, so be prepared for many bugs. The best way to secure ur level is by logging out and back in. At least you don't have to wait the 30 sec like on the public servers...lol

I started in Bastok and I walked past the AH and there was 3 tunnels, I went in the middle tunnel and when it was done loading the back ground was all messed up.

Xeno: That was the mog house. Which isn't working. use "@zone ea" (no quotes) to get out if you are stuck.

I don't advise anyone to use the Mog houses as they are broken. Please don't promote them because the can potentially cause issues. What may work for one may not for another. Better to avoid them then me having to lock them out in the code just to avoid further posts like xeno's.

Remember the @commands are there for emergencies and dire necessity only. Using @zone to go anywhere that you can get to by walking or whatever is simply lazy and unnecessary. I've had to remove a majority of the @commands due to abuse causing server crashes I can/will limit the others if need be.

After all this is a test server, if you want to go crazy on the @commands then feel free to use a public server. The @commands here are a privilege - not a right.
