So a public cheat is usually cheaper and has free access for every user, whereas a private cheat is more expensive and it can require id verification or various other methods in order to get access to it.

Complicated question to answer

It depends on the developer's competence; It is rare nowadays that any cheat flies under the radar of an anti-cheat completely. They usually pick up a few suspicious things, but more is needed to ban people automatically.

Sometimes these things that get picked up can be manually verified as cheats, resulting in the cheats userbase being banned. But anti-cheats like BattlEye has limited resources. This is where private cheats can have an advantage over public cheats because Battleye will focus resources on what abnormalities happen the most.

But if you have a very competent developer, there will be no difference if his software is public or private. Because he has all the potential detection vectors under control, or at least cover the ones that can cause bans if manually verified

Then there is also the sales side of it. It is a shared sales tactic based on the unknowing of the customer. You seem more trustworthy if you advertise as private, which leads to more sales.

Then people are also making private cheats because they want a stable income. Some do this as a hobby on the side, But I would say that this is a minority of private cheats.

A private cheat is limited to friends of the dev or people they invite
There are many cheats that claim to be private but arent, so keep that in mind. The term 'private' is often used to lure unknowing new cheaters into a false sense of security, sometimes leading them to get scammed

There are also some cheats that id consider public but some people have a different opinion (doesnt really matter tho), mainly helite and zerohook. They are slotted but to get a slot you need to go through an application (or get a vouch from an active user, like in a private)
Theyre public because anyone can get in with a bit of patience and determination


A cheat doesnt stay UD for longer just because its private, it can help tho since depending on the cheat you can be sure that noone rages on it meaning there are less bans. A private usually also has less users, just like a slotted product

Also, if a private gets to a certain size but doesnt strictly limits invites it basically turns into a public cheat. Not really a 'problem' for eft but it happens with other games like csgo


TLDR; It doesnt matter whether or not your cheat is private, public or anything in between, just watch out for scammers

There are public cheats, private/verification cheats and real private cheats.
Public: as you can guess, everyone can buy without restriction
Private/Verification: Access restricted by verification.
Private: Hidden, highly restricted. You need to know someone.

Being private does have some benefits. It doesnt protect the cheat from getting detected but it lowers the chances for certain ac access. This only applies to BattlEye, not EAC. For example someone could just buy a public cheat and leak it to BattlEye. Or BattlEye himself could buy access to a public cheat.

There are some various like limited slots and so on. Could help to not get targeted but doesnt make the cheat bulletproof.
