Looks like you've got to be level 120+ to use this stuff, since the files for level 110- items doesnt seem to exist. I'm trying to find out how to make level 110- armors appear to be level 120 ones but so far no luck. If there is a painfully obvious way that I've missed, please flame me, but don't forget to add in the instructions Ive missed! Thanks.
the dds files are just textures, so changing those would change the coloring and such but it would still be the same shape as the level 110 armors. the actual shape of the armor is determined by the c3 files, and we dont yet know how to open them.
proto posted this pic a few pages back - he replaced the dds file for tombats with the dds for santa from the christmas quest and got this result:

no you can for example rename the clubs so you can use it for 110+
same with armor... just need to know which file and the name
quick question: does this just edit OUR armors, or all of them? for example: I want a Black/Blue lvl 120 trojan armor, but my tro is only 105...so would I be able to look at someone else's tro and see the Black/Blue? =/

you can use the 120 armor for your lvl...
just rename the lvl 120 armor to 100 armor...
but yea when you replace original 120 armor with an edited armor, then you see on your server the armor on the other 120+ trojans...

Actually, I think I figured something else out...
The frames are all in the Conquer 1.0\c3\mesh folder. Each c3 file is named in response to the .DDS it is bending. So basically, if 1234567.DDS is the image for Ganoderma, then 1234567.c3 will be the mesh frame that it wraps the image around.
I haven't tested this theory yet, I will try tonight hopefully. If anyone wants to do it before me and post if it works, please feel free. I'd honestly love to see MysticCastle being overrun with Santa's.
so your saying if you change the dds AND the mesh then not only the texture look like the new changed file but it will have the shape?
Edit: yes thats correct. if you change the mesh file with the dds then they look like it with the correct colors and design(well i did it in the armor.ini)
DDS file attached for conquer\c3\textures
me is gonna do a lot more of these. one thing i cant find tho is most of the armours seem to be missing. i want to redesign some of the tao ones but i cant find em!

i'm having the same problem. i think that it has something to do with patching and when you downloaded the client (older versions had more dds files patched in) so im trying manually patching from as far back as i can. ill let you know how it turns out
i actually havent finished step 3 right now, but just installing the first patch added in a ton of files (including minimaps) so i really think this is what it takes :P
so user when you install the old patch you found the old files with the texture for low lvl char like lvl 15 armor?
if not then
maybe they made the file invisable or something

i checked already and the file isnt invisible.
i didnt want to elaborate on it before because i suck at explaining things, but ill do my best (i start by going over the stuff everyone knows ps:
co obviously has much more stuff now than it did when it started, so to get the new stuff added in they used patches so people dont have to download the client again. now, in order to shorten the wait time for people new to the game, they also updated the client download file so it has all of the new things and doesnt need to be patched. i think that rather than just adding in the new dds files and such, it was encrypted or added into a huge file (maybe the enormous wds files?). so those of us who downloaded the client later dont have as many files as, say, proto does .
but by repatching from the earliest possible patch, it downloads all the dds files we cant see and we can edit them.
(i could be wrong on alot of this but it seems to fit with what ive experienced)
unfortunately the earliest patch i could find is 4231-4251 (link is in my previous post) so we arent going to have nearly as many as people who downloaded the game shortly after it came out (unless someone knows where to get a very old version of the client or patches)
bah, dont try this yet (sorry if you already have)
something isnt working... i think its that you have to change version.dat so it thinks the last patch you installed was 4230, but im not sure... still working on it x-x
-edit-
i give up, no matter what i do i cant get it to work... it finishes patching and then yells at me that conquer.exe has 'generated errors' and closes it... i now need to download the game again >
