thanks for the supportive feedback :P now if someone can just figure out how to patch the oldest patch...

edit - heres a quotes right off of the website:

"If you install the client with installation CD, we recommend you to install the Patch 4231-4251 (4.124MB) and Patch 4252-4274 (11.02MB) manually."

"Attention! For limited time only:

Conquer Online installation disk is bundled with Maximum PC magazine September 2005 issue in north America."

is anyone a subscriber to maximum pc? :P

the dds files are just textures, so changing those would change the coloring and such but it would still be the same shape as the level 110 armors. the actual shape of the armor is determined by the c3 files, and we dont yet know how to open them.

proto posted this pic a few pages back - he replaced the dds file for tombats with the dds for santa from the christmas quest and got this result:
Actually, I think I figured something else out...

The frames are all in the Conquer 1.0\c3\mesh folder. Each c3 file is named in response to the .DDS it is bending. So basically, if 1234567.DDS is the image for Ganoderma, then 1234567.c3 will be the mesh frame that it wraps the image around.

I haven't tested this theory yet, I will try tonight hopefully. If anyone wants to do it before me and post if it works, please feel free. I'd honestly love to see MysticCastle being overrun with Santa's.
Thats not the case, If you open */ini/armor.ini you can see what textures relate to what meshes, i used it to edit one of the taos armors to look the same as a trojan armor, then i screencapped it and showed the guy and he was like "WTF?"

and im editing files atm made my blade glow blue, and also when u swing i made that effect blue too, with a black coloured herc with a bright blue ball and small red starry effects. ill screeny it and post files once i finished it all off.

And to someone who asked before about if its only for your armor...

No, anyone else in the game that has that particular armor you edited will have those effects, but it is only visible on your client, to them they are just wearing the regular looking armor, unless of course they edited the file too

Also, does anyone know if its possible to edit the texture for the elite, unique and normal of weapons? I want to change elite weapons from red to black, so when my blades glow blue, the colour behind them is black, instead of the ugly red they use for elite weapons

[img]text2schild.php?smilienummer=1&text=hold the presses!' border='0' alt='hold the presses!' />

i want to say trying to patch it with old patches was a waste of time, but it wasnt! patching it screwed up my client and i had to download it again, i just finished installing it and i have ALL of the files even without patching it yet! that just came from installing the client! so for those of you that are missing files and such, download the client again and install

edit: it even has the cool poses for super armor! (super armor and full super gear)
too bad its 1am or else i would play with these :P

edit2: and that dumbass squirrel from the forest is in here! time to kill it >.<

edit3: just to be on the safe side, heres the download link that i used... in case the downloads are different

i got an idea for all you people who like editing the files

for example: you have a lvl 15 tao and you say "aww i hate this armor im gonna replace it with that cool lvl 120 one" instead why dont you take that 120 and compleatly erase the texture and make your own. then change the name of that and put it in the texture folder as a completely new file and go to the armor.ini and change it to the new one

i havent tested this out because i dont know how to edit it

Interesting idea but learning how to edit yourself then posting down your ideas is better.

Anyway good idea.

I havent goten round to downloading your red flaming armor and clubs yet dude, I was wondering though, can you modify the colour of the glows for lvl 120 armors?

Maybe create some, as far as I know archers and warriors still dont have any..

u mean the flames for the 120 trojan armor? the fire-effect?

yea i can modify it too... but yea archer/warriors dont have any effect like this and is kinda impossible to make one.. maybe when u change the .c3

EDIT: btw I will make a pack with 10 different colors for clubs... and 10 different colors for Armors... male/female...

and i will post instructions how to rename the files.. so everyone can use it..
