just found a latency tweak for wow, it improved the latency standard from 100 to something around 50 , it didn't do any good for my friend though, so i can't guarantee that it's going to work for everyone
furthermore exists a tip that says that you can prevent fps fall-offs by running windows mediaplayer in the background without playing music (worked for my friend on her laptop) WIN XP
Quote:
Click on Start then on Run, type regedit and enter.
Step 1:
Go to the Directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/MSMQ/Parameters
Look at the right window, there should only (Standard) be written as key. create a new DWORD-Key with a rightclick inside the right windows and name it "TCPNoDelay". After that you rightclick the DWORD-Key you just created and change its value from 0 to 1
Step 2:
Go to the Directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Tcpip/Parameters/Interfaces
You'll see some sub directorys with long names like 0B627902-9E3B-451A-9F1A-8D528521B0B0. Now you gotta find the Directory that controls your internet connection. In most cases it's the directory with the largest amount of Keys, besides should the directory be the only one containing keys called DhcpDefaultGateway, DhcpIPAddress and DhcpNameServer which have IP-like values. Now create a new DWORD-Key (see Step 1) and name it TcpAckFrequency and change its value to 1
After you're done, close the registry, reboot your PC and login to WoW
In case that you notice a change for the worse for other Transfer-Processes after executing Step 2, change the Value to 2, which is the standard value.
---
It seems that the registry entry isn't present in some peoples systems.
For those of you where that applies, just execute this file which adds the entry with the right parameters.
sry if something is wrong with the translation English is not my first language ^^ and i hope it's alright with dRon that i went ahead and translated it
