Idea of private Silkroad was fun back then because it was easier to level, get sox items, enchanting and everything else. Now we don't want them anymore because everybody is getting boring reaaally quick, leaving the server and it fails as a result. We just need 1 server that is just the same like original Silkroad experience but maybe with little bit of "tweaks" here and there.

Where is the fun and excitement if everybody looks like noel trees? Only kids like them.

We had that with latest ISRO files[Zyain], but they called it a fail.

I think you are about right, boredom killed SRO. Pservers flourished when the only alternative was official servers or private servers with official experience but higher exp rate. When files were released everyone was able to create servers, and it was good in a way, but most servers basically offered easy and fast access to endgame with little custom content, and the ones that did were really limited by what we had. We could only modify visual stuff or work with the existing systems, maybe even apply some SQL stuff here and there, but we never had the chance to create new maps or systems to make the game interesting enough.

This could have been solved if we ever had the src of the server and client released publicly, but sadly this never happened. And this was due to the greed of some. Megamax and another person actually had the source of everything, tools and plugins included, from the latest sro files, and even direct access to the servers that hosted the files, so they were literally getting official updates of the src from Joymax. When they got access to them I joined them and we worked for a while on creating a new server with the original sro plan, this means, arabian race, new maps and new systems. Sadly they got really paranoic, I asked a few times for direct access to the files, because its impossible to work on such project if only 2 persons were actually able to work on the codebase, but they refused, and lost focus completely of the project. On these circumstances i left the sro scene completely and dont know what happened with them, but ive seen megamax sell builds of the files with a few fixes and unimportant stuff, so i guess that's all they got from it.

The private sro scene had so much potential, and tons of interesting pservers came out of it, but sadly we had many limitations and attacks that in the end killed the scene

These old times were great but as the time went by and players wanted more, the developers had to resort to creating custom libraries/emulators and modifying packets in order to be able to do more than what we were limited to.

Still we could only do so much yet people with src didn't even do something useful or better in any means.

Even developers right now are insecure and share little to nothing even releases has stopped cause everyone right now is trying to come up with something new to attract the players and fulfill their needs which created competition.

I doubt there is much to be seen as we really reached our limits. I thank Chernobyl for releasing the files and not being greedy like others and without him, we wouldn't really exist today.
