Armor Movement Speed

Armor Movement Speed

Hey Guys,

i want to make my server more balanced, one big problem on every server is that everybody uses garment and nearly no one armor. The reasons are simple... Movement speed +20% and MP use +20% when you use garment.

Is there any known solution to make armor/protector/garment equal on movement speed and mp usage? I searched already in my database but cant find any differences on itemlevel... Just TypeID3 are different but it doesnt change anything...

Hmm... thats not the answer i wish to hear but in this case there seems to be no way to get this done...

Yes, it is the answer you are going to hear. The "TID" IDs are hardcoded, and they do have their definition, which also defines item behavior, inside the gameserver and client, sadly.

Your answer lets me hope to find a solution but i will try it.

Here whats going wrong in my head:

When TypeID's change the behavior of the item. Then it is possible to change heavy armor to garment TypeID3 '3' -> '1' in Database. This change is needed in media.pk2 too. In this case the server and client should think my armor is garment.

Or is this wrong?

Okay. I tryed it now... I changed TypeID3 to 1 in database and media.pk2. I can wear now armor and garment at the same time. Each armor part is shown as "garment" but the movement speed is equal now.

but that's not the real fix or change... you have to modify it in sro_client and gameserver... wearing armor and garment in the same time is not the real fix xD

I know, for now it is an workaround for tests. If it is worth i will debug both to find it in gameserver and client but this needs some time.

So you will setup all type of equipment to garment :-) so you can combined all gears with no affect to type. So you done only need to change text from garment to common :-) Thx for nice idea ... Chest/legs/head HA then Shoulder/hand/shoes garment ... Rly open new possibilities to play and combine gear :-) wondefull idea, i never think about it this way... THX for post it can be good so every part can be used differently on all builds !

To mix all 3 was not my plan but it is intersting too

On every Server there is one armor type which is used by 95% of all players... Garment which is the best for all activites (except for pvp dw south). So my plan was not to make heavy armor to garment (yes i made it for tests) but to have a real choice which type of armor (against phy dmg or mag dmg) is the best for me will give a lot more variations to the whole server. But to have this choice all 3 types need the same conditions in movement speed (being slow in job pvp will be your death) and mp usage. If you have to choose between high phy def, normal def and high mag def would be the best. In this case it should be impossible to mix heavy armor with light armor or garment.
