What if...

I just got the question what would happen if you disable Gold drops. So you can get Gold by jobs only (or maybe smth like gold lottery with ticket or number system).

In the past on almost every server gold isn't #1 currency anymore. Trade for Silk or other items is the current usage.

What do you guys think? Empty Server? A lot of trading / thiefing?

(This is an open discussion)

I was thinking about a very oppositing thing of your idea .. why wasting the old prestige of gold and we can revive it?
So my idea is to make kinds of the gold , what do i mean?
well, it can go with ( maybe lets call it Currency ) there should be like 3 or 4 kinds of the gold differ from every town and make an suitable interface for them on player's inventory.
If dat idea paid you attention i'd like to hear people's opinions maybe someone can advance it.
About your idea , i agree with you but that's for the current servers so ye.

The idea of more than 1 currency, a currently for each town, is just impossible.
You need to define and declare the behavior new classes and functions for each new currency besides of the known "Gold" into the source code of the GS and client.

On the other hand, disabling gold as a drop should work, as far as I could think of it. Leveldata and another table (if I remember correctly) were handling the drop amount, additionally, you could just (which I don't know if this would affect the "sell items to the town/thieves den merchant and gain money" aspect) nullify the droprate of gold (ASM and server config wise).

But you have to rethink the whole possibilities. What if the player has no gold for trade items? For heal potions, player and mount wise, cannot even progress because of low lvl gear.
2 options would (might) solve this: cSRO-R coin system till lv 60 (afterwards the same issue about lacking gold in terms of efforting additional stuff) or daily quests with fixed gold amounts (with logging character gold amounts, which handle the respective quests adding and removing them from the questlist of players, avoiding gold farm abuse every day).

To avoid to be on low gold u can go trading (Ok, you need start gold), do quests (higher gold rate for quests) or maybe you can implement a banking system with Loan like in RL... Get 100m Loan with 10% for example. (Just a quick morning thinking lel)

What if you do your first trade and spend all your money on it and get robbed.
There you are standing with nothing.

What do you think about the system of World of Warcraft?

Bronze/Copper,
100 Bronze = 1 Silver,
100 Silver = 1 Gold

You can exchange the coins to a more valuable coin. Also make those coins not dropable in case of PK / death.

Edit. 1 Star FTW! If you go 5* and risk everything it's your fault if you loose everything
