Ddos attack on dedicated server

and my server down , i tried to close all ports and make my server very high secuirty but i failed , and ddos attack didnt stop

so there's any solution ?

well, you've got two options to be honest,


give up and realise the ddos won't stop


or, invest in a DDoS protection -

yeah, because a guy who thinks 'very high security' is going to stop DDoS attacks is going to buy 500k worth of DDoS mitigation appliances, bandwidth and colocation

how much? so any sro server have a high chance to die because of haters (ddos) or some server owners can afford to pay it?

Well, Hyperfilter(which so far so long seems to be the best solution for SRO servers) costs 500$ monthly, if not mistaken. To answer your second question, pretty much yeah - any server that isn't protected by a hardware firewall(that means no ****** softwares like anti-ddos guardian and the likes of it) will go down within few seconds of being attacked by a mediocre botnet.

Well, the prices go from 200-5k $

Happily there haven't been a lot of DDoS attacks lately since playsro got closed


(There is a much fairer competition atm, and I don't think there are a lot of pserver owners out there with actual botnets, not talking about script kiddies with 'booters')

velestia seems to be on a HEAVY attack
also, yeah, the DDoS will always be a problem, even with a physical firewall, there is always gonna be a chance of success.
I wonder if in the future, DDoS will be still be a enemy of servers

hardware firewalls aren't designed to protect against DDoS attacks, but to control the network itself, I have no idea who would attack velestia, since they don't seem to focus on the 'turf' of other major servers

I heard there were some rumours about Venture attacking them, if that was the case it probably wouldn't be online anymore

so dont think to open a server without anti ddos

Sadly,even with protected servers,you can't get the ultimate protection.

If you purchased a 5gbps flood protection,and someone flooded you with 10gbps,the company will either close your server or require you to upgrade to a much more expensive package.
