With over 200+ players and a good server, you will get some nice ddos attacks -.- Welcome in the SRO scene.

Try to hold your server under 200 players

well, the best thing to do is get a large player base, and not intimidate other owners, or act like you server is 'alpha' compared to everyone elses and it should be fine.

Go for hyperfilter if your server can afford it and you will be fine as long as nobody decides to exploit your agent/login server. Hyperfilter will block like 80% of inconing attacks as they are usually done by sum random tards via some 15$ booters.

as far as I'm aware, most people do use exploits now instead of booters

Although, how are these exploits fixed by current server owners then ?

Because if it was a real issue, all the servers would be in risk right now...

current server owners have no clue about fixing exploits, I don't think there is anybody left in sro that knows how to fix these exploits

but it's not impossible to do so, not impossible at all

Velestia was under ddos for 2 days straight now. It stopped at some point and started again... and then there are our lovely kiddies that love finding some sorta small exploit hole.

but well, just be ready to pay 1k$ to rival and they'll mitigate anything for ya... Atm Velestia is building their own small network with reverse proxies and mitigating ddos... its easier to manage it and its actually a bit cheaper as well!

In future, we can offer this service to other pservers which aren't in direct competition to us, thereby having a fairer competition in total

PS: hyperfilter is at 300$ atm, if it hasnt been mentioned already.
