Wireless Connection Problem.

*SOLVED*
The reason my wireless adapter was shutting off periodically was because of a Power Save Function. However I could not change the Power Save Function settings because I did not have Service Pack 3 installed for Windows XP, I only had Service Pack 2. After I installed Service Pack 3, I was able to change the settings and I am no longer having any connection problems.

Thank you.

I'm having an issue with my wireless connection, it seems when I leave my computer inactive running silkroad, my wireless connection will just plainly stop functioning. I'm still connected to my modem, I just don't have any internet access.

I have searched google for hours. I did find some useful information, but not a solution.

This problem is not being caused by a Power Save Function. As my adapter does not have any options for Power Saving.

My theory would be this might have something to do with too much memory or CPU being used for silkroad and it's causing my system to ignore my wireless adapter. Or maybe there are too many packets built up in MSN or Silkroad itself. I'm not sure about these theories but, they're all I can come up with.

This is EXTREMELY frustrating while trying to play on Athens without a premium. Every time I get dced I have to spend another 1-2 hours logging in.

I'm using a Linksys WMP11 "Instant Wireless-B PCI Adapter" and a Belkin Pre-N router.

I would GREATLY appreciate it if any of you could help me fix this.

Thank you.

Look , I had this problem also , so Now just follow me lead , go to Start > Connect to Right clik on your network > Status > Details

Copy the IPv4 Default Gateway and go on your browser do http:// the thing you see in there and push enter now put as password "Admin" and go to Wireless Settings > "SDDID" And change whatever its written there to 3com . It'll work i promise i had the same problem!

Sorry, I'm using a Belkin not a Linksys for a router. I did check my router settings at though I could not find anything named "SDDID", probably because that only exists on Linksys routers.

Thanks for the try!

All wireless routers have a "SSID"

SDDID = SSID

@others

Even if his issue is not SRO related, he has still come here for help (thinking that it is) so just help him or dont post at all.

Thanks, the reason I posted here is because I have posted on a few technical sites with no results, I thought it may be somewhat related to silkroad using too much CPU or RAM.. I wasn't sure. I solved this problem now. I'll update my post, so please close this thread.

Thanks again.
