Character Load Error

Yo Guys,

I have a problem. I updated my item.sdata and my character folder and after updating my client I get a character load error. It's funny, I don't know what could be wrong, I already encrypted/decrypted and imported the item.sdata file so that couldn't be the problem. Anyone knows how to fix this? It has to be something with the character folder but what? Btw my logs don't show anything wrong.

Open your Item.SData in ShStudio, if it opens fine then it's safe to say there isn't an error in the file itself.

Check all the item you created in the Item.SData with ShStudio, if the images show up properly then it's most likely not a 3DS or DDS file problem. Although, do make sure you convert any EP6 3DCs into EP4 3DC format with ShStudio 3deditor (just open then save as and overwrite) otherwise that will cause errors. The best way to check that is try opening the files with the as the new one opens EP6 files and you won't see the error.

If this is all fine, then it's most likely an encryption error.

It was the episode 6 gear I added but I edited the whole item.sdata with the 0.7.1 as the new one sometimes bugs and it showed the 3D files so I guess it must be something other. I'll check it tomorrow again and will update you but thanks either way.
Also I encrypted the file updated my server and decrypted it and put it in my server. Did not help to be honest

You should go through each 3DC file that you added, open them with shEditor3D, here's the thread link where Castor uploaded it:

Just drag the file onto it and just File > Save As > Overwrite. That's what I did, it takes some time if you're adding a lot of files but I don't think there's a bulk way of doing it, unless you find someone with them already converted.

I think my files were already converted. Still that error is showing up. That's not cool cause I nearly spend 2 hours on "converting" them.

I am slightly worried at this. Hopefully I'm not reading wrong and it seems you're inserting a decrypted file into your file, which would explain your problem. Sorry for missing it the first time around.

My rule of thumb is to just decrypt until I get this error with LPH Shaiya Datafile Tool:

Then encrypt once and import.

All imported .SDatas should be encrypted, no exception. You'll get errors if you encrypt more than once, or if the file is decrypted.

Server Side NPCQuest.SData (PSM_Client>Bin>Data) should be decrypted.

Yes, I know what you're talking about and I checked my .sdatas. The Item and the other .sdata's are completely okay. But when I try to load some of the .3dc files with Castors 3d Editor it stops running. Maybe there's a problem with these files. You encountered a problem like that?

I think I formulated it a bit wrong, that's because my native language isn't german. I'm sorry if I happen to make some mistakes.

I never encountered the tool not loading when loading the files 1 by 1, that would seem like there's a problem but that's more something Castor would have to help you with.

What files are they, that you're having problems with? That will most likely be the problem if they're not loading.

do you have some log error ? did you consult them ? IF error post here.

second, in an other thread relative to Game data error Castor was expose his experiencing view.

in order to display the toon, the game loads only the basic graphic files (gear & weapons), so having the login page mean that item.sdata (& .mlt, .itm) are safe.

when you load a toon, it loads skills, map, and other data, if one of these files is corrupted - or invalid against changes made on server, such as skills present in skills.sdata but no longer defined at server side - the game crashes.

so you likely have an issue in your data.saf
(server errors are also possible but you didn't indicate if you checked the logs).

The tools of Castor, out of Bug Tool, there is no bug in files.

For me, Character Load error Sound one Sdata no conform, OR could be one item in Database and active in database that doesnt exist anymore, Remind that Server File + Client should getting update in similar way !
NPCquest should be decrypt server side and encrypt client for exemple...

The gear I have problems with is the newest gear, the one where the Ranger/Assassin look like bugs and the Warrior like a devil. I now use data from another server which function properly. Still don't know what the problem is but now everything works fine, maybe just some corrupted files.

To Diavolino, yes, checking logs is the first I do. And if there's nothing wrong I'm 100% sure there's something wrong with the data.saf. I think if there is an error then the database wasn't updated. Haven't had the problem yet by the way, (a bit offtopic but) has anyone the episode 6.x Server files? I think that would fix most of the problems here but I can't find anything on the internet. I have a ps_game.exe where the game crashes after I choose the server. Don't know how to fix that so I'm still running on Ep 5.4.

all the psgame running actually are Ep 4.
it was these files of ep 6 but not fix at all because the game.exe was not fix.
its not the changement of episod that will resolve problem because private server rest private server, and all turn in around of approximative thing since noone know the engine of Shaiya.(ref Nubness & Castor)
so finally better to fix something that you get information with PSgame4.
if not i invite you to join Cansas59 and make a group of support to find solution about ep6 file.
