How to setup the famous Shaiya server without problems

ok i will help u =) its IIS not ISS

Follow my guide:

1. You need your window CD and put it in to your PC
2. Click Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs->Add/Remove Windows Components
3. ''Windows Component Wizard'' will show up and Check on ''Internet Information Services (IIS)'' see pic:

4. Now wait a few mins then try again to install MSSQL, Enjoy

so 72.55.177.194 exchange against 127.0.0.1? this does not clap then there comes the announcement C:\........\game.exe is no allowed win32 use

if I give my PC address 192.168.***.xx it also does not function I give them

Did you use Backspace when editing ps_game.exe? If so then you've corrupted the file. It looks like it from what you posted. It will not work now. When changing something and if you have any values left (not needed) insert 00 as Hex values there.

Ok i manage to installl the db and everyting but it still shuts off i got olivers mssql server 2005 and iis instaled and followed te guild step after step still dont work fist it are green > then it goes to green || again

1 - I followed the instructions in this topic to set up my server.
2 - I used the files/instructions HERE to convert it to an EP4 server.
3 - Opened SMSE to verify the server was connected and all the databases were included.
4 - Opened server patch config and started all services, all are running a while.
5 - Downloaded and installed the official US EP4 client.
6 - Opened that new game.exe in hex editor and replaced the original IP (72.55.177.194) with (127.0.0.1) that the server is configured to use.

SHAIYA_SERVER\SERVER\PSM_Client\Bin\Log - you will find logs here. Delete all of them and try to start all servises. You will get new logs. Paste them here please. So far I can't see anything wrong.

I couldn't see your 2nd IP configuration. First one usually is your external IP. Below you have link to my configuration. Maybe it'll help.

I couldn't see your 2nd IP configuration. First one usually is your external IP. Below you have link to my configuration. Maybe it'll help.

You don't have connection with database, at all.

Here's a tip on what to do.

SQL server listens on 169.*** IP, Shaiya server is configured to 127.0.0.1. I believe you will know what to do now

Anyone knows what the error "checking server. Please check notice board" is based on? I got my EP4 server running, all on green play arrows, no errors at all in the logbin, nothing.... Hard to debug when i dont know where to look in the first place :S. For the *.ini files, i have them all on standard 127.0.0.1, except for public, which is 192.168.1.1. This is where my game.exe is based on, but it just gives an error when i execute it. I know it's lame for me to ask this question in the thread where i made my own tutorial, but it's bugging me... Thank you for your reply in advance,

vibbaboy, strange name indeed, make sure they are set all on disabled, except for the IP "127.0.0.1". Also make sure the port on the serverside and the clientside are both on 1433, this helps the connect error in some cases.

I am generally pretty savy at following instructions. But unless your savy with whats being talked about. This tutorial really sucks. Its lacking a lot of the middle work with no decent illustrations. For example at the start of the instructions. It says to put everything in d:\SHAIYA_SEVER\SERVER Now I did that.. and now someone is saying D:\SHAIYA_SERVER\SHAIYA. There is so much contradiction in this, I am really not surprised a lot of people are having problems. I am included in this lack of understanding. For those who knock the people who cant figure it out, not everyone is trained in computer language and code. I can say this tutorial has gotten me closer. But I am still missing information and files. Where to put all the files too. U say extract it and put in ...shaiya_server\server. and to check and make sure and that its not just where u extracted it to. So am i to believe that what i extract doesnt just all get put in the folder \shaiya_server\server? If so then where does each individual folder go? Does some of the extraction go into the folder shaiya_server? And where is the folder named shaiya? There is no folder named shaiya. Accept one called shaiyaserverpatch. And how do we get the game thats downloaded from aeria games to see the server? Where is the game for the server? Sorry man but this is a really half hearted effort to say its an all exclusive tutorial.
