Smile Linux Private server?

Does anyone know if a script exists that is Linux compatible for shaiya private server?

I've located a script for the OS version but I can't seem to adapt it for private.

Any suggestions would be tremendous help.

The Linux flavor in question is Unbuntu 11

here's the link for the script I was able to find.

But only for this distribution I think..

Trying to get Shaiya Absolution, and Wicked to run on Unbuntu is what I'm trying to do. Any help would be appreciated.

There testing EP3 on wine, someone would need to make a new script for EP4-5.

UPDATE!!!!

I got Shaiya Absolution to run BUG FREE in wine!!! No problems of any kind at all. I just set it for 1024 X 768 and it emulated in real time flawlessly.

I'm new to unbuntu and wine but I like it a whole lot more than windows. I'm noticing I don't have anymore akadns and akamaiedge and akamai nothing ******** with my bandwidth anymore.

What I'm wondering now is how I can get it to run in fullscreen. =D

I downloaded shaiya wicked as well, it's giving me output errors in wine, I'm hoping that it's my downloaded copy, the bandwidth fluctuated sharply so I'm wondering if I got some bad packets or not. I'll re-download it and check it out.

He is not talking about a server, he is talking about the client.

you could do a server, same methodology, however use a different SQL server I'd think, Prolly run it in VMware to make it work. ^_^

VMware usually allways does the trick proper.

Also... Server wise, That script I posted that I found on Aerias website could probably be adapted to suit the needs of a server.

matter of fact, it should be easier to do server than client since Linux is primarily made for server applications.

Well..... i've been making some progress in getting Shaiya Absolution to run in Debian, Having a few problems though..

It gets to updater, and login screen, as well as server. But once i click to login to the server where it should go into the character screen it crashes.

I did a: wine AGSA.exe -opneGL command and this was the dump that it gave me when it crashed past the server login

wine: Unhandled exception 0xe06d7363 at address 0x7b845790 (thread 0024), starting debugger...

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is what was done differently in the Unbuntu Wine distribution that is different in this one.

Now I'm pretty sure I got my display adapter config correct.

Nvidia Geforce 5 5200,
So I'm using the 173 legacy driver along with:
nvidia-xserver,
nvidia-smi,
nvidia-kernel-2.6.32-5-686,
nvidia-settings
nvidia-kernel-source
nvidia-xconfig
libcuda1
nvidia-kernel-common
nvidia-kernel-2.6-686
libgl1-nvidia-legacy-173xx-glx
nvidia-opencl-icd
nvidia-libopencl1
nvidia-opencl-common
nvidia-libopencl1-dev
nvidia-kernel-legacy-173xx-source
nvidia-kernel-legacy-173xx-dkms
libnvidia-compiler
nvidia-glx-legacy-173xx
xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
xserver-xorg-video-nv
libgl1-nvidia-alternatives
libglx-nvidia-alternatives

Now I'm not the greatest at this linux flavor, and most of my Linux experience has been setting up SAMBA servers for data transfers.

I know there are unnecessary packages are installed I'm just trying to figure out the best Nvida Geforece FX 5200 driver to go with, and I'm not sure which one that is.

It can standard with Nouveau but it doesnt support 3D acceleration from what I could tell so I went with the legacy 173 driver and it seems to be working for everything in Linux, and shaiya up until the character screen load should happen.

Any ideas?

And sorry about that reply about the linux server test Bane, I hadn’t noticed it was about testing a EP3 LINUX server. So my bad man. The absolution EP5 server is pretty decent though, but I'm sure it's a windows server... =P ^_^

i have been pondering a linux based pserver myself thinkin about the steps i wud have to take to make this work, for database u can use PostGreSQL and the setup is relatively easy and follows alot of the same as windows db setup through mssql so that wouldnt be a problem i think, wall i have ran into is the server services hwo to make psm_agent and the lot work on linux

Just a side note since we suddenly started being used for experiments, lol
Yes, we are a windows server.

Though, this all is a bit side tracked from the original intent of the OP...

I guess that you are saying he tested a private server, like running a game on wine, not making his own server, because that is what this thread is about, making a private server on linux, not playing an already existing one

When I had it running in Unbuntu it was'nt laggy at all. I've been having more problems than not getting it toeven get to the char screen on Debian. I'm sure it's a 3d acceleration issue, or an openGL issue. yeah, also make sure it's all hardware and openGL ran. And I just got the same interface hack **** on Absolution server that occured to me on OS which is why I left OS. You know, when your point of view perspective zooms out, your skill bar disables, all npc interaction does'nt work, and when you click and drag a NPC interaction menu it drags, and leaves the buttons behind. Also when you actually do get some kind of menu access and you attempt to scroll downward, it auto scrolls up no matter how hard that you try.

btw S33R.UM on Absolution, S33R_HM on OS before I quit/was bannd... lol And I bet they still have that gold bar / gear dupe hack in Bzone still..... all that money and they could'nt even patch thier own PoS game engine...
