Rappelz private Server Assistance Request !!!
hello there,
Big fan here! I've been checking out your site for all things tech, especially the private server stuff. Those options for games and stuff look awesome, but I'm curious about building my own private server.
Now, I know this might sound ambitious, but I'm up for the challenge! I'm hoping you might have some resources that break down how to actually set one up and customize it to my liking.
Specifically, I'd love to know more about:
1- The Private Server Breakdown: Are there different kinds of private servers? Like for games, websites, or maybe even music streaming?
2- Data Do's and Don'ts: What kind of info do I need to get this server up and running? Are there any specific programs or files I should be aware of?
3- Server Essentials: What are the building blocks of a private server? Folders, files, that kind of thing.
4- Skills to Pay the Bills: Is there anything special I need to learn to run a server? Any tech skills I should brush up on?
Basically, any pointers you can give would be amazing! I'm determined to learn the ropes of building and managing a private server, and your website seems like the perfect place to start.
Thanks a bunch!

You know, as someone who is also new to the community I had many of the same questions as you. However, I do have a developer background, and let me just say: it's not easy nor simple.
First of, there's a lot of old lore about different releases of servers. In the current landscape, it basically comes down to whether your server is based on an emulator, the official source code leak or a pre-built server. There are 3 categories:
- Pre-9.1 servers from emulators.
- 9.1 source or pre-built server.
- Post-9.1 pre-built server or upgraded 9.1 source.
Which of these people make use of comes down to personal preferences and technical skills. A private server making use of 9.1 source has access to more game options than someone using the newest pre-built only servers. But building from source is a lot more work.
You will hear people talk about "Epics". These are essentially the major versions of the game, such as the previous Epic 9.1 mentioned that is the version of the game that was leaked by the revo team.
Setting up a server isn't particularly easy either, I would say. There are many different programs to get running and databases to setup. To sum it up concisely, it basically comes down to:
- The game server, AKA Captain Herlock
- An authentication server, AKA Princess Aurora
- A game content database, AKA Arcadia
- An authentication database, usually connected to a website
- A player database, AKA Telecaster
- A player client, AKA SFrame
- Some kind of way to launch the game. Either a game launcher or a launch.bat
Combined together, you have a way to distribute your client to your users and help them install it.
You have a game server that loads in a specific "version" of the game content from the database.
And you have an authentication server that takes care of user logins.
Acquiring your own version of all files needed comes down to your choice of version of the game. Are you interested in starting from a blank stable state? Get a hold of the official 9.1 files and use those.

hello again,
I'm reaching out to inquire about the necessary tools and instructions for setting up a private server for Rappelz. If possible, could you please provide a comprehensive guide or resources to assist me in this matter?
Any information or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,

There are guides you can find most of the information in the sticky thread at the top of this section...
Useful links for the section is titled appropriately, there are links to guides on how to set up different server versions although for the most part most of the details remain the same from version to version.
Keep in mind a very influential group of this community who shared all of the server file versions originally has removed themselves from the community along with their shared files so if you are looking for something specific and do not see it there then you may need to ask.

I'm just following up. It's been nearly twenty days, and I haven't received a reply. What is going on?

I am curious as to what kind of reply you expected.
You asked for guides and tools on how to set up a private server.
Guides and tools were linked for you. Guides that have videos.
Then you posted the guide is too long. Yet in your opening post you said.
"I know this might sound ambitious, but I'm up for the challenge!"
So really serious question on my part your last post didn't really ask a question. How should we have responded?
