PW MY server shut down?

It said PW MY server shut down, but if I start it say PW Destiny server is under maintenance and its still double dropp event to 4.th June, is the server really down forever?

Bumping, can anybody give me a heads up here? New publisher, will that mean wipe?

they didn't say anything even if they will transfer the server. I guess we will hear more as the days go by... Also what happens to the money they collected? Neither site is giving much information at this time.

using a translator it seems if i read correctly there will be some kind of transfer.. i could be reading it wrong however.

you can use the online website translators to take a peek yourself but this page



seems to suggest that you can transfer an account. I can not read the native language so i might be wrong in this but i used wordlingo.com to get a rough translation.

here some more info on this:

As most will be aware, Perfect World Malaysian server closed 2 days ago.
Many people with English speaking characters have been made homeless.
This is due to a contract directly with Perfect World Co, which owns Perfect World International, being revoked by PW Co and given to another company, who can not at this time host English characters.
Seeing PW Co is partly responsible for this and PWI is a wholely owned subsidiary of PW Co, I believe it would be in PW Co and the Chinese business communities best interest, to SAVE FACE, by offering PW Malaysian English clients an account transfer to PWI at a small administration cost.
Once this hits gaming forums and the entire gaming community hears that PW Co will not back its customers either directly or indirectly, Perfect World, no matter what the brand will be seriously effected. All the way back up to PW Co. Its time PW Co put there hand out to those that gave them the opportunity to branch out into the English world, as we all know the Malaysian server was the first English speaking PW server created.

It is not a realy good reputation for Perfect World if they close regulary servers and make them after some month new. As Perfect World made it last year in Europe and now it seems that make them in Malaysia too.

perfect world rent only the licence, they not running my or pwi.
since the ppl behind pw-my had not enough cash to get the best bid on the new licence...its gone to another company.
this company cant speak english, so they shutdown the english my server.

that the old company dont say anything on this, is normal.
they wanted to get cash to the last second of the game is running.

same will happend if pwi shutdown the server.
by all the sell out and user rip off, im sure end of the year is pwi down, latest.

PWI is PWE, which is a subsidary of Bejing I though? Wanmei frenchises the game to other companies, that's true.

Garena runs english games though, I can't understand why the hell they would have proplems hosting an english games. I guess it's once again just a license issue.

Yes, but Servers or Server databases can be transfered easy. On the Internet is all saved for a long time. And at the European PWI Server the most players still know that servers got already closed. As example you can see here:

Sure is that the MMORPG Market is getting harder and harder. Every week start a new MMORPG or a new server anywhere. Advertising firms make the most cash as the MMORPG hoster want to get new players. And that the server can run with lower playerbase the games get more expensive and more expensive. Thats at PWI too. Every expansion means more cash needed. The Descent expansion that required more tokens for new skills, now the new imperial fire expansion that require more tokens too.

It is expensive to play free MMORPGs. And here it doesn't matter which MMORPG you play. All are expensive.
