Biography
Robert Nesta „Bob“ Marley was born on the 6th of February 1945 in a little Village called Nine Miles in Jamaica. He was an important Jamaican musician in the 1970s and 1980s. He made the reggae music style popular all over the world. He told the Story of his home and the Rastafarian religion that he followed in his songs.
MUSIC STORY
In his song called Buffalo Soldier he is telling about his life, that he was an soldier in the heart of America. He also got stolen from Africa and brought to America. He was fighting for survival (überleben).
MOTHER AND FATHER
Bob Marley was born to a black teenager, his mother Cedella Booker was also black but his father was a white man his Name was, Norvall Marley.
CAREER WITH BAND
Bob Marley started his music career in the 1960s with his group “ the Wailing wailers”, that he performed with two friends. Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, In 1962.
MARRIED
He married a woman called Rita Anderson in 1966, they had five children together on of them is Ziggy Marley who is also known for his reggae music.
HIS DEAD
Bob Marley injuried his foot while playing soccer with some friends. They thought it is only an simple injury , but when it got worse instead of healing , they looked for a doctor. They diagnosed a cancer called melanoma. Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami
on the morning of 11 May 1981, at the age of 36. The spread of melanoma reached to his lungs and brain that was the reason of his death.
Memories
one of many memorials to him is this representation at Madame Tussaud Wax Museum in Amsterdam.
And in Kingston (Jamaica) there is figure of Bob Marley.
