The second method uses much more RAM and also some more threads.
If we only talk about "some" players, e. g. 10-30 or sth, there should be no reason to run another world server. If we talk about e. g. 180-300 more players, a second channel would be more worth than if there are 10-30 more players.
But: As Lucifer said, using 1 channel for many players increases stability problems.
