Why should it be down ? Opennos is a opensource project so as far as people will commit on it it won't be down... last commit was 3 days ago

I won't finish all on my own so stop waiting like a jellyfish for a ******* wave... if people don't want to contribute it's because it seems no one really care about the project (just look the amount of people who give us a ko-fi (5 different guys that mostly don't have any server). Many people are just "waiting" and asking me for release dates of function, bother me by trying to buy me... there is a lot of chance that I will stop opennos in less than 6month and cause it seems no one care about contributing, opennos won't have any new function after (exactly like waat or other emulator... ) truth is that I get what I want from opennos 1 year ago since I'm just continuing for the community that is clearly not respectfull.

Look, you started the project and you wanted to make a fully functionary privat server didnt you? So why should people pay you for your own idea? You started by yourself, people didnt pay you for doing it lol?

Indeed, he started the project to test himself but, since in the end it is an open source project, he can decide at any time whether to release his or her own progress to the world or to keep it for himself. The basis for an open source project is: Public project to which anyone can contribute freely. So if he himself does not want to contribute to the public project at this time, what is the problem? How many people went to buy files from third parties instead of supporting the original project? In those who still have, have they enriched themselves without even reporting a bug? Yet, they continued to update the project in a free way. What you have ahead is nothing more than a fundraiser. If you do not understand the difference between the latter and a paid project, I know that you have serious problems. Last but not least, fundraising is needed to have xml files containing the raids already ready after their hours Work however, these raids, are already ready to be built by anyone at no cost. Everything is already inside the source, only people prefer to have everything ready and immediately

it seems you don't understand at all the project. I started the project with absolutly no goal to make any server that's why after more than 1.5 years i still not have any server. The project was opensource in order to get "contributors" but it seems 99% of OpenNos user won't contribute at all... I seriously don't care about OpenNos money cause it's clearly not worth it... I can get a lot more with 100x time less work on it.
What i just tell in my last message don't have anything to do with money, there is 3 kind of contribution : donation, development and reporting. The two last one are the most important but seem's no one really care.
So clearly if i want to stop to contribute it's totaly my choice, i won't care if you or anybody else don't have a perfect server and can't get money from it...
The project is OpenSource but when you look at it it could even be Private it will be the same (there is less than 100 commit from people who are not in the OpenNos Dev team
So if you still not understand why we need contributors (donation, development and reporting) it's cause of motivation,
- i have nothing to loose by stopping the contributions, i can start my own server if i want too and it will clearly be better than all fucking leechers one cause i will have the oportunity to make my own changes and finish the emulator completly without sharing my code if i want to.
- servers have a lot to loose If i stop contribution most of servers will stop quick. Just have a look at OpenNos Dev team commits removes them (only get the 100 commits from contributors) think about what you can do with that : absolutly nothing.

So please share with the world what the whole purpose of doing this emulator is if you "have no reason to make it public or private" if you make it private, without a server.. then what are you doing it for?
I'm really curious to see what your reasoning for starting this whole project is if it wasn't to make a working emulator for the community to use.

my goal at the origin and that's why the project is opensource was to make an emulator WITH the community and not FOR the community that's the big difference. Clearly i have no ******* idea why i continue this project because i never wanted to do a pserver with it. I keep alive than one day the community will start contributing. That one day community will try to fix things and commit fixes. But i think it's a dream.
I won't make it private without a server but i don't want to make a server so there is more chances that i stop the project. I was thinking a project like that would create a real developer community but after all it seem's the only thing created was a "Team" of 6 people.
PS:clearly if the amount of OpenNos user was the same as the amount of contributors the project would be like the official since a long time

Open-Source Project
01/31/2013 - CO2 Private Server - 28 Replies
Hey everyone,
So, you might remember that I said I was going to make a new open source after Christmas, and I wasn't joking around about that. I'm going to make an open source for multiple games offered by NetDragon Websoft. You all chose Conquer Online (1.0) and Era of Faith. I might add Warlords to it but we'll see.
Now, a few things have changed. First, the project doesn't have to be in C++ anymore. I got the job and I'm working on C# programs there (the company is changing to C#)....

Open-Source Development: A C++ Project
12/02/2012 - CO2 Private Server - 18 Replies
Hey everyone,
I haven't made a public project, ever. I'm still working on Kibou (Burning Skies) and that will be returning this winter; however, I feel very bound to that project (and the C# language). I enjoy it, but I'd also like to work on something new. Something for the month that I'm off to do while I'm bored of re-documenting Kibou. That's why I want to make a new project that's not in C#. I want to make a VC++ project. I chose VC++ because I'm more familiar with it (and because I...

Open Source C++ Project
01/07/2011 - SRO Coding Corner - 23 Replies
Hello,
Currently I am working, on an Emulator written in C++. My goal is to make a strong group of programmer, who are interested to make a "free 2 use" emulator.
You don´t have to be "professional" or "24/7" programmer, everyone is welcome.
If you see things on the Code or you know how to do it faster / better you can apply a Patch via SVN. If you do this you will be automatically a "Team Member".
Here are some Tips to Submit / Edit an existing Code.

Open Source Project: SREmu
01/25/2009 - Silkroad Online - 18 Replies
I am just making this topic to bring your attention to recent development at SREmu.
SREmu has gone from a VB6 project to an open-source C++ project hosted on SourceForge.
At the moment I am the only one working on it, but I would like to see it a community driven project. To clarify: I'm not looking for a team, I'm looking for knowledgable people that code in C++, preferably with some experience with x86 assembler, packet logging / parsing, subversion, visual studio, etc.
About the...
