how to change language in the game? for example from English into Russian?? help me please

If you dont have the russian language pack installed, it should crash the client.
If it isn't defaulting back to English... that is.

Yep, i tried changing to "DE", startup + intro booted normal, on Driver-Selection it crashes.

Should mention, but you should also have the right version for the right client build...

I still have v1594 Traditional Chinese (from the 2-year patchless streak, when I decided to switch to my culture's language. here and there)

with v1616 (or whatever the last build was) client files in English and French.

Running the client in English & French works, running Traditional Chinese crashes the client during startup.

(Also, I don't know why they use ASCII instead of Unicode...)

Changing languages is not a problem for me, since I own all the patchfiles from the game.
Patching the game from 0 with 10MB/s is awesome xD

I.Hate.You. (Been looking at your progress log though.. even though it's kinda outdated now)

How far did you go back though? Just out of curiosity.
Would be nice to get CB1 as a base and work through whatever version 1 wants.

Few days after the server closed I took a peek at the patch system xml files. (after snooping through trace.log again for no reason) and got 403 errors for those pre-v5 patches.

add-on: Oh yeah.. btw, anyone has the html addresses for the earlier launcher pages?
(Before they switched to XML data for the ads or something like that)

I stopped updating it, even after I went through all the trouble to mod the Launcher and NFSW.exe to use with valid custom SSL certificates.
However, I can patch the game by using the NFSW launcher natively.
In other words, if I mod the patchfiles, I can mod the game for everyone.
I could even jailpatch the game to a specific server.
I'll preserve that stuff until a proper MP server goes up.

Did EA wipe the webspace already?

I archived them somewhere, figured out some javascript code blocks.
And EA hid Google analytics code into the Launcher IFrame, sunovabitches.

I would keep the patch files until one can create custom patch files natively through an EXE (or Github/SVN, lol) even after the MP server goes up. So people can downgrade/upgrade to whatever version they want. (to say pull or experience whatever content they want)

I have hope for a easier method to rip removed content then. XD
(Maybe possible to recover and rip the lakeside safehouse too once it becomes feasible to do that.)

Nice, it'll be fun to pull out the launcher pages for some nostalgia years down the road.

I remember the link showing one time when the page failed to load.
d##m EA for the trackers though. (wanted to say the F word, but I toned it down)
