You need to open the game via server editor, not the old launcher. Also you need to point the server to nfsw.exe, not the launcher exe.

Exactly the same problem I had.
Just open the settings.ini file in the server folder and replace what is there with this
C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\Data\nfsw.exe
Problem solved.

Nortons is junk, it is not a virus.
Just add an exception in nortons to allow it or just disable nortons while playing the server.
I been following this topic ever since it's initial release and today I finally decided to install it, works great.
The fact so many people are using it and helping with its advancement, proves it is not a virus.
I also suggest you replace Nortons with Avast, been using Avast for years and it has never let me down.

It might be not solved since you can change the installation folder...
Not everyone has the game data there (for example me).

Didn't think of that, sorry.
I just installed the server today and this may be a dumb question but anyway, I have a seperate folder with all the goodies in it, such as the huge list of persona files.
I loaded one in and got the game working, does it matter where those two files are at or does the server editor auto put them into the game data folder or will it use the persona data from where I have it and it needs to stay there?
Hope I explained that correctly.

this happen when i'm install Version v1.7Beta server
when i'm done playing pursuit i got infinite please wait
any suggestion?

berkay forgot to edit this.. do this..
Goto /www/nfsw/Engine.svc/event and open the 2 xml files. After that replace "<PersonaId>22418201</PersonaId" with "<PersonaId>RELAYPERSONA</PersonaId>" and save the files. Pursuit will work fine after that.

Perhaps, you just have to keep trying and it will eventually load?
edit.
I changed to a diff persona and after unzipping the file, I right clicked and noticed the two files were set as blocked, so I unblocked them, reloaded the server editor with that persona and the game loaded right up.
Working great. wow.

Ich bräuchte mal eure Hilfe....
Ich habe den Server "Root" aufgesetz fast alles fertig bearbeitet,nun kommt beim Starten folgender Fehler :

Hey Ho :)
Ich würde gerne mit einem Kumpel auf einer gemeinsamen Karte spielen. Er spielt schon länger und hat eine richtige coole Welt erwicht.
Nun ist meine Frage ob ich dessen save-files irgendwo zu meinem Server adden kann, damit direkt diese Welt und nicht irgendeine geladen wird.
Benutze die ganz normale Minecraft-Server.exe , die man auf Minecraft.net downloaden kann.
Danke schon einmal für jegliche Hilfe
