Patching executable 04/15/2012 - CO2 Programming - 1 Replies i have always wondered, how do people patch executables?
I thought it would be possible if they can obtain the asm codes of the patching target and find the codes to alter, finally save the changes. Can anyone teach me how is this done? I apologize if i sound too demanding, can you not just give me a run through of the things i need, but throw in a bit of details so that I will have a better idea of what i will be doing.

Deshalb hab ich mir vor einiger Zeit ein kleines App geschrieben, damit das Chaos mal ein Ende hat.
Das Programm kann mit ausgewählten .exe-Dateien gefüttert werden, die auch wieder aus der Liste geworfen werden können, und diese natürlich auch starten.
Da ich es so kompatibel wie möglich halten wollte hab ich für die "Doppelklick-Startsequenz" auf Windowseigene Funktionen...

Ich bin grad an son göttlichen reversing tutorial, aber komm ich da nicht mit, als sie/er PE erklärt und die funktion erzählt hat. Jedoch komme ich mit mein englisch nicht mehr mit. Könnte mir jemand erklären was das ist und die funktionen ? xD
