What this Forum Needs.

Since we are on the verge of getting a new moderator, be it tbstewa, myself or someone else, I think that its important that we as a community work together to figure out what the root causes of unrest in this community are, since non of the other sections seem to have this problem. From what I have seen, the majority or topics that degenerate are;
1. Reposts of reposts of resposts of re....
2. Asking for something that's already posted, or a sticky.
3. Poorly worded or demanding questions.
4. Begging.
The unfortunate part of this circumstance is that without some kind of stipulation these repeated acts can go on without a moderator being able to do anything, since its annoying but not technically against the rules.
An idea that I had and would like to get some input on would be a stickied reference guide in each of the sections that has links to all the most popularly requested things and most helpful things organized and dated. If this was done, a warning could be made that if a post was made that is simply asking for something posted in that thread, without adding anything to it, the user could be warned and the "worthless" thread could be removed.
Any thoughts on this? Any suggestions as to what we could do to whip this place into shape?

Or, enforcement of the section, set up moderator rules.

Threads that have already been created with the same question will be deleted, if the person continues to do so, give them a suspension (If you can even do that)

There needs to be some form of law, maybe posters that stray off topic should be warned and their post deleted. I'm guilty of that myself but I do agree this forum is getting way out of hand.

Repeated threads shouldn't be deleted but locked with a post from the moderator stating why. That way others get to see clearly that they shouldn't repost and they might actually use the search feature when they're repost of a repost of a repost gets locked

I believe the better option would be to delete the thread that way it lowers post count of the offender as well because really if you get an uuber high post count just by reposting reposts of reposts of reposts then you seem to look like you know what you are doing around here since most seem to look at post count as a way to gauge how reliable a person is around here...

well the 3 strike system works to keep the count slow, I do think that clear labeling of closed threads would be a great benefit.

It's rather shameful that Epvp only elects 1 mod per section (At least to my knowledge) You need a set of checks, balances, and discussion with people in power.

Anyways, yea a 3 point system would be good. But we need somewhere to put answered closed threads that are complete. Maybe a separate section?

New rule? Perhaps no such thing as false-positives. If you get a hit, whether you think it's false or not, either fix it or don't post it.

We have people that do investigate, Skitty for example. If evidence is found, and I mean proof not just hear-say that something is keylogged, the user is warned, if it happens again, suspended.

We also need discipline. Just look at this thread

I mean honestly, our forum regulars know better then to download this, yet do you see how many of them just say "YES IT'S SAFE" to **** someone else over? No, just no.

No, I know that most of the "keylogged" stuff released here was just garbage. The people who released it don't have the knowledge to even attach a keylogger less of all make one. But if you remember when DR released that keylogged trainer thingy, or the 2-3 people that have posted gold generators and/or modpacks that we're corrupted.

I'm just saying the fake files and malicious programs/files being posted here contribute to the forum being ****.

True, we need a forum cleanout of all useless/answered threads. Complete deletion of multiple threads and locked of answered ones to keep from necroing.

We might have to talk to some of the admins for that one. When Kev was mod he said he could lock threads but not delete them. I don't know if that changed or not but mods should have the power to delete threads also.

Mods can only lock threads, its up to the admins to remove the actual postings. However, if a mod reports it as needing removed, it should be dealt with.
