Refining whatever mod

quick Q: i've been cycling through too much **** when it comes to my data folder and mod packs, and i somehow managed to lose the ability to refine whenever the hell I want. anyone know which mod pack I can find the fix to this and/or what files i need? couldn't find much about it in search.

Refine when not near a furnace? Doesn't sound like a data folder mod to me.

If anything, check skilldb.xml. Check the range of the refine skill.

sorry, let me clarify: near a furnace, but the furnace doesn't have to be on.

you have oooold mods lol, this issue arose during the first patch in which metalurgy was included, the availability of the new ore types combined with the old mod creates an error where nothing is refinable, hopefully that helps.

No, this doesn't help: A) my mods sure as hell aren't old. I keep things updated. B) This issue only arose for me after my game crashed and I had to re-mod a clean mabi. After tiara, jinsu 179, mamp, and a large overhaul of the data folder I seemed to have missed something that used to allow me to refine even while the furnaces are off.

hmm... does the refining window even open when you select the furnace, or does it bypass this all together?

The window opens just fine. The mod that did this wasn't wild or elaborate, it just allowed me to refine while the furnace was off. Simply put, it allowed me to use the furnace as if it were on 24/7.

no, my friend can still do it fine. she has no idea which mod allows her to do it, though. I guess i'll have to once again reload everything to figure out what it was that was working it.

nah, don't think it was a part of fastcook. tbh, I think it's something in the realm of tiara/jinsu/mamp b/c I can't think of anything else that's on my friend's computer minus some other data files she got from someone else. I'm fairly certain she doesn't use fastcook though.

Skill.dll. None of those did that, O.o in Skill.dll there's a line if you search a unicode text in the memory map, refineuse.1. right there, you can read what it says you can't do. It's easy to change to what you can do.
