How to setup fishbot with MySQL

What you need:
• A VM with already completed FishBot setup as shown
• The newest version of FishBot
• A bunch of time and coffee

 Setting up a static local IP

You can configure that in your router, but I‘ll show you a method for everyone because all routers are completely different to set up
Rightclick on the internet symbol on your PC and select „Network and sharing center“.
Click on your internet connection on the right side (something like „Ethernet“ or „Wifi“, not the „Vmware“-stuff). Click on details. Now note the following: IPv4-Address, subnetmask and IPv4-standardgateway. Close the dialog and click on Settings -> scroll down to IPv4 and click settings again. Now enter your IP, the subnetmask and the gateway as noted. For DNS below use the gateway again and leave the second box blank. Hit OK. Now your PC will always get this IP from your router and other computers in your LAN can realiably connect to the database.

 If you want to use the database with the internet

First to the steps above if you haven't done them yet.
This is only one method to set this up, but I think it should work for most people. Lets go through it step by step.
Your database uses the port 3306 to „speak“ with other applications. You need to add an exception to your firewall so other computer in your home network are allowed to use this port. Go to Control panel -> Windows Firewall -> Advanced Settings -> Incoming Rules. Next click on „New Rule“ on the right. Port -> TCP and 3306 -> Allow -> Domain and Private/Home -> MySQL. You can do the same procedure under Outgoing Rules later if you're having issues.

Now you need to reach your computer from outside. But everytime your router connects to the internet he gets another random IP. So you will instead use a „name“ for your computer and let him update the IP behind the name as soon as he gets a new one.
Go to and sign up for a free account. Write down the data as you will need it later. The hostname „xxx.ddns.net“ ist he „name“ for your computer. You’ll need to confirm your email address by clicking on a link in the email you get after registration. Now download the application . Install it and sign in. Once you logged in go to Edit Hosts -> select your name -> click OK. Now you can also setup the autostart oft he tool. Go to File -> Preferences -> Startup -> hit the second box. Under network adapter make sure no „VMware …“ is selected. There has to be the „Windows default“ or your primary internet connection. Now you can close it, it will stay open in the taskbar.

Now comes the tricky part. Until now you can only reach your router with the address, not your PC. You need to configure your router to pass all incoming network trafic on port 3306 to your PC in order to reach him the from internet. This is called „Port Forwarding“. And it’s different for every router!!! So there is no way I can offer you a special guide on how to setup your router, sry You have to try it yourself or search on google how to set it up… But here are the basic steps if you can’t find a guide:
You’ll need the local IP of your router. It is the IPv4-standardgateway you wrote down earlier. Enter it into your browser and hit enter. Most likely you will be prompted for a user + password. Either you wrote it down once you set up your router, it is written on the back of your router or there is still a default combo (google for the default credentials of your specific router). Once you logged in you may have to browse through every menu and looking for something like „Port Forwarding“, "Sharing" or „Rules“. Add a new rule pointing to your static IP (IPv4-address from earlier). The port is 3306 (local and remote if asked) and the protocol is TCP. Save it and pray to god it works

 Install MySQL Server & Workbench

Download one of the options (doesn’t matter which one) and start the setup. Choose „Custom“ as type. Now you need all items from the first group („MySQL Server 5.x.x“) and from the next group only „MySQL Workbench“. Uncheck the rest. Continue until you get asked for a password for the root account. Better choose a secure than a weak one, but in every case write it down somewhere. You’ll need it in a second. The rest is easy again. Clicking until the setup finished and the workbench started.

 Configure MySQL

In the open workbench click on the + right next to „MySQL Connections“.

Name: Your desired name for this connection
HostName: localhost
Port: 3306
Username: root

Now click on „Store in Vault“, enter the password you entered while installing MySQL and hit OK. Ignore the other options and hit OK again to create the connection. Now click on it to connect to your server. In the now opened editor type

create database xxx;

to create your database (replace the „xxx“ with your favorite name e.g. „fishbot“).
Now go to Management -> Users and Previleges on the left. Click on „Add Account“.
Enter a login and a password twice. Under „Limit to hosts matching“ make sure a „%“ is entered. Switch the tab to „Schema Previleges“. Depending on your resolution you may have to fade out the left part of the workbench (on the top right). Click Add Entry -> Select schema -> your database -> OK. Then At the bottom Select All -> Apply.

 Add accounts into the database

Copy the „Database Updater.exe“ and „libmysql.dll“ into your shared folder.
And if not already there create a file called „mysql.ini“ with the following content:

HOST=
USER=
PASS=
DB=

Fill it with your information and save it. The host is either your static IP (for homenetwork only) or your name („xxx.ddns.net“).

Now you need a file with accounts.
The format is still „login:password:server“. To convert old NHC files I’ve posted a quick tip .
The name of the file will be the code you/your customers need to track the order. So the best would be the referal-id in my opinion.
Open the „Database Updater.exe“ and select the file. If you’ve configured everything correct till now the tool will quit with a success message.
If you want to doublecheck that open the workbench. Click on your connection -> on the left onto schemas -> your database -> tables. Rightclick on „live tracking“ and select the option at the top. Now you should see all your accounts.

 Set up order tracking for your customers

Copy the php-code from the first post below the videos into an editor. You have to change the line

$con=mysqli_connect("host", "user", "pass", "db_name");

according to your database configuration.
Save it as „index.php“ (not „index.php.txt“!!!) somewhere for later.
Go to the Control Panel -> open your installed software and click on „Enable or disable windows-featrues“ on the left. Check the „Internet Information Services“ or „IIS“. Click ok and windows will install it. Open the control panel again afterwards and go to „Administratice Tools“ and open the IIS. You may be promted or can click on it yourself on the right: Aggree to download the Webplattform-Installer. Download and install it. I fit doesn’t open you can find it again on right side in the IIS. Go to Products -> Frameworks -> PHP 5.6.0 For IIS Express -> Add. Now install -> Agree -> waiting a bit until it gets installed and configured automatically. Click finish and close the Webplattform-Installer.
Expand your computer on the left -> sites, rightlick on „Default Web Site“ and open it in explorer. Delete everything in it. Copy the prepared file ("index.php") into the directory.
Again rightclick on the default web site and select „Edit bindings“. There sould be only one http pointing to port 80. I recommend to not change this port, but are free to so. Select it, click edit and enter your hostname („xxx.ddns.net“).
Furthermore you need to add an exception to your firewall as described above. Allow incoming traffic (not outgoing) on your desired port.
Now you can access the page from every PC over the internet. The address is „xxx.ddns.net“ (or if you changed the port: „xxx.ddns.net:port“). Test it out

 Setup fishbot

Simply copy the newest Updater and the libmysql.dll on the desktop of your master. And in the shared folder you have to enter 2 things at the bottom of the settings.ini:

• MYSQL=1 <--- to enable the databse support in the bot
• QUEUE=0 <--- Your bots shall play together and not join the public queue

I got that on 3 VMs with the new version. All stopped working. As you see in the screenshot the last entry is 5h ago so I assume it stopped working for that long
Also very rarely the updater don't finishes the download correctly and the FishBot.exe is broken then saying not a valid Win32 Application. Added an exception in my antivirus and also treid disableling it completely. BUt thats a minor thing

nah this is related to bot could not find any record in queue table,
but missing accs in refs table pointed out my mistake, new database updater will be needed
