[Moderator Position] Silkroad Online

Application [Silkroad Online]
Skype: None
MSN:
eMail: Blank for IG reasons.
Age: 27 in 2 weeks
Country: USA

I believe communication between all Moderators is important so most should have skype or an msn account, which allows for messages to transfer between one another much quickly. Also good for disscussion and planning.

This is my first time applying for this position. I have been a member on these forums for a long time, and hope to contribute more to the community.

Why do you want to be moderator?
I know that if given the moderator position I will be able to devote my time to helping in the Silkroad section FULL TIME. I am on everyday, in the past I fell off for a while because of relocation issues etc, but now I am settled and can concentrate 110% of my time to helping. I am friends with practically everyone in the Silkroad section, and if given the chance I know I can clean up alot if given access to the added features like closing threads, ban spammers, edit, etc. I am home 24/7 now because I am going on disability, so I will be right here.

If someone posts something against the forum rules, or a post(s) is suspicious I will look in to it, thus saving John some time on laying down the ban hammer.

I respond to users needs in a timely manner (usually), I am very knowledgable surrounding the topics in Silkroad, I am up to date with most things, and I have written many helpful guides which the mods themselves have used In the past I was awarded stickies for my AgBot contributions. So I do have alot under my belt here on elitepvpers.

I also like having some sort of responsibility, since I have nothing better to do while I am at home haha.

How much experience do you have with the issue from the forum you apply for a moderator job?

I have run a website in the past, from the ground up ( I have bought webspace, created an online store, as well as phpbb and vbulletin based forums on Apache server with IIS. If any maintenance issues arise I can also be extremely helpful in solving the problem. I was also a vip member on a couple of other websites. The website in which I ran in the past was shut down by the FBI for selling and trafficking modified cable modems, capable of giving the end user free and anonymous internet access. (Search google for MassModz.com)

Do you have enough time to visit the board averaged two days and to take an interest in the forum?

Yes, I AM on everyday, and am active in the forums. I average 18 hours a day on the computer, so as you can see it takes up my whole day. Whenever I login I always check things out and make good informative posts to respond to questions that I know the answers to.

Do you took part there before you sent your application?

Yes, I have been on these forums for years, and have proven to be quite active and helpful to the overall Silkroad Online community.

Do you have a lot of patience with questions wich you think thyselve that they are very stupid?

Yes, I have the patience of Job (from the bible). I can relate to anyone and everyone, no matter what the topic. (unless it is a turk scammer)

Can you act good in general with other human beings?

Yes, I am easy going and easy to get along with, I try to be as understanding as possible.

Did you ever operatet as an moderator before?

Yes, as stated before I owned and operated MassModz.com a very popular cable modem modification website. Which recently was shut down by the FBI. So my knowledge of how things work is endless, and if these is something I do not know, I find the answer.

I have and always will be an active, devoted member of the forums I take part in.

Skills
-HTML (the easiest thing since sliced bread)
-Visual Studio C++ (created a few .dll hooks for counter-strike)
-Camtasia Expert
-Can work/edit projects in C++ if given the full source code.
-phpBB
-vbulletin
-Apache servers
-Programming and reflashing hardware with jtag via interface
-Programming Cable Modems with modified firmware
-Programming and decrypting polymorphing algorithms
-Writing .bin files used to allow FTA box users to watch tv without having to pay for service on DishNET. (I no longer do this, just adding for application reasons)
-I have many other skills most of which are somewhat illegal, so I wont go in to detail

Times:
Throughout the course of any given day, I check in every 30 mins or so over a 17 hour period. Eastern Standard time.

Please consider me as an applicant, I love you guys! <3

So that means applying is out of the question? Since when?

And there are active mods all over the forums in all sections, last time I checked two heads are better than one, and so on. And as you said, there are active mods (mods as in more than one, so whats one more?)

And with all due respect, when was the last time you saw a moderator post in the Silkroad general section, Bot section, or even guides section? Moderators are suppose to be more active than registered members, last time I checked.

Moderators are active, Zathor and the new mod are doing a good job. They probably dont post because they are to busy closing things and dealing with useless threads. And last i checked we had more than one mod, though i know you are speaking metophoricly.... I think 4 mods is more than enough.

We're caring for every section, posting is just needed when dealing with special cases or if we have personal interest in a thread, like others do as well.
Afaik theoneofgod doesn't play anymore, invi is just coding and stopped playing as well and zathor and me are just playing on pservers.
We're dealing with all sections and are doing our bet to keep them clean.
Claiming us to be inactive in there is simply wrong. The amount posted in those partial sections of the entire section is just incomparable , since the psro section is @ ~ 500 posts a day while the regular sro section might have 30 only.
I don't guarantee for theoneofgod's and invi's playing history,tho, it's just what i heard.

Also as far as i can see, your reports-count is quite low, if you want to be a mod, you should do way more reports!
Another thing is, you were infected by a few viruses already, that were trying to spread therselfs on the forum. If you want to be a mod , you have to take care of security.

Right now, you don't get my vote, but this may change in the future.

I meant no pun intended for saying that mods are inactive, I was just referring to the amount of responses in the normal SRO section, it could be alot more on the mods part (for those of them that have an interest in that specific section). I am not sure what you are referring to as far as me being infected by viruses, usually everything posted is false positives. I do a scan with Avast to be certain on my own machine, but of course things can of course slip past avast as with any antivirus.

I will definitely report alot more, I like to let users have the benefit of the doubt and give them a chance to change what they posted (usually when a new user comes on). But as you said I need to be more strict, which I will definitely work on. I do appreciate the constructive criticism as it will help me to improve on my ability to properly moderate.

They only have to respond if the posts are breaking rules. It just shows that the psro section is in much worse shape than the regular sro section is.

I think Mass would make a great mod. He's always there to help when you need him, he's a good person who has helped the community alot so far, and I think he would do a great job, if given the opportunity to do so.

I think a big Plus point is also that he's not only active in Psection of SRO, because quite honestly, I haven't seen you around much Yo123, and I've been here for a while now ( No disrespect ).

You must have me mixed up with someone else, because I did make a post in relevance to that bot but ONLY because I saw someone spamming in the game and came on here to ask if anyone was familiar with it since it was the fist time I had heard of it. I never once posted a link saying hey this is a safe to use bot, download it.

I must have been left out of the everyone category because I didn't know.

Strange that I've never seen Mass Mods in the PSRO Section, isn't it?
Also,Yo is very active in the PSRO section so I don't know about what you're talking now oO

If he doesn't reply all the time, doesn't mean he's inactive.
He wouldn't be promoted to mod if he would be inactive, right?

EDIT: Omfg, sorry, but your friend is **** ACTIVE IN THE PSRO SECTION :O
He has only 2 posts here I Lol'd so hard that blood was flooding out of me from all sides, from my eye holes, from my ears,my left hand dissapeared and some strange creature bite my leg and then while I was writing this edit I died laughing.

Funny thing is, when I go through my post history I cannot seem to find the thread anywhere that I made...(most likely deleted) and specifically asked if it was a safe bot or if anyone used it before, I would love to see you dig that up and post exactly what I said in that thread/post, because if memory serves me correctly, I said I would give it a try and let people know (which I never got around to doing because of other things). So to be frank, trying to use that against me getting a mod position is kinda whack, because I never actually advocated for that bot or even posted anything saying it was safe, I simply asked IF it was safe or if anyone had heard about it/used it.

I am active in the Silkroad section and I help out with members needs practically everyday, reporting and deleting threads is of course a mod job but so is helping out the community when it needs it, which is exactly what I have been doing. How come you haven't noticed any of those posts in your search through my previous threads? Funny, you are only pointing out the potential negative things when there really isn't anything negative about my post history.

Here is the thread about Thunderbot, that you closed:

I created my own thread simply inquiring about if it was legit/had been used. Which was deleted with no answer.

Funny, I never see you or Yo in the Silkroad general section, or posting there.. And I never said anything about PSRO, whoever said anything about PSRO, I am applying for mod position in the normal silkroad sections... And you are right, I am not in to the PSRO section as much as I am the normal section. But also, Yo is not in the normal Silkroad section as much as the PSRO section, which is what I am applying for, and has nothing to do with PSRO. Which is exactly why they have their own sections. And I am guessing Yo stays out of that section because he is interested in the PSRO more... Amazing...

I am not interested in PSRO at all... Just the ISRO section with the sections checked off in green.

Sarcasm isn't going to win you any thanks from me because it just seems to me like you are just trying to bash.

I am getting a weird hint that I am getting feedback/bashed on by people that are not even active in the section I am in. Which in all aspects and any way you look at it, is kinda messed up. Since I am not specifically targeting anyone and just trying to defend myself when I haven't done anything wrong except apply for a position in which I feel I am worthy of.

Lets cut out the debate club and stick to the FACTS, I am active and helping on a daily basis in the Silkroad Section (normal Silkroad, not PSRO). I do not flame members, I do not take sides. I post useful informative information most of the time which is beneficial to other member who otherwise cannot figure things out on their own.

What more can possibly be said? You either see the facts, or you don't.

1. Either I am helpful to the community and can benefit the site more.
or
2. I am not helping the site out and an Admin should close this thread.

EDIT: Haha I just realized we might have all had a slight misunderstanding as to what section I am applying for. I am NOT interested in PSRO, just the normal Silkroad sections in which I post on a daily basis.
