Ok so I've been considering doing this from time to time in the past but figured I'd go ahead now as we've lost a few moderators and those who are still assigned are somewhat inactive (mostly just relating to timezones probably)

Reason for Applying:
I've been an active member of this community for a number of years slowly transitioning towards someone who (hopefully) knows what he's talking about and can provide help to those who need it. For anyone who checks in on the conquer sections often they know that I'm quite active and help out wherever I can but also know when something is above my level of coding/hacking knowledge and simply point them in the right direction if possible.

Simply put I feel I'd make a good addition to the moderator team.

Why Am I Applying?
The conquer section could really use another moderator (preferably on a more north American timezone/schedule). It's not always bad but there have been a number of times where I'm reporting threads and nothing gets done about it for a while. Understandable but I'm simply seeing a void that I feel that I can fill. I enjoy helping people and am definitely around epvp enough to make a difference.

Experience:
I've been involved with conquer in some form or another since it was originally released in beta something like 7 years ago. I'm very knowledgeable when it comes to the game (bit less when it comes to new features but I'm working on coding them for my own servers so that will change). I've been on this forum for a number of years and active in the pserver/coding community for the past year and a half. Most of that has been me learning to code (work in progress but I'm getting there).

Am I prepared for such a position?

In a word: Yes

Depending on my schedule I tend to check the forum a few times daily answering questions where I can and reporting any spam/fake files/fights. I tend to be blunt with people but am not insulting towards them and do not take things personally. This allows me to maintain a level head and point people towards the solution and, hopefully, help them learn something at the same time.

Experience as a Moderator:

I've moderated my own forums before (conquer private servers) as well as being a mod on a few other forums mostly relating to MMO's or video games including a gaming Clan I ran for a game called Jedi Academy, my old conquer guild and a forum of retired conquer players who still wanted to stay in touch.




Just a side note for people. If I was voting, I'd probably chose some better coders from the section. Sadly they don't have the time or interest it seems so I figured I'd drop off my application.

@ Admins: Not sure if you are officially looking for new moderators yet but keep me in mind if/when you are.

I just wanted to add one of the main frustrations users on the conquer sections seem to have...

Getting threads approved :P Certain sections to post threads requires moderator permission. It could just be my experience but this tends to take MULTIPLE DAYS. I know when one of the ppl I was helping with their project tried to release it it took around 4 days to get the thread approved and even then required pming a moderator iirc.

Not a bash against our current mods, they have lives... it's just that things like this does call for more mods imo.

Conquer section just lost a mod so we'll see if this goes anywhere :P

One of the most helping members from the section, and in my opinion definitely the number one choice if another mod would be added, and i`m kinda sure the other mods feels the same way.

Yes, yes yes yes. Pro would be the perfect choice as a moderator. He definitely is the most helpful person in the co2 pserver section. He is an old member, hes's mature, knows how to handle problems maturely. He helps whenever he cans, and seeing that he's a guardian, he MUST do a good job reporting bad posts. He follows the rules to a T. He deserves this spot more than anyone else. He's perfect for it.

We'll see what the admins have to say as technically we do have quite a few moderators currently... just seems like there is always a TON of moderation needed in the conquer section between the spam/fake file sites and the member fights going on lol.
