well you have to remember, with 13 into energy storage you will have what, 75-80 energy ? not to mention you will have 4+ energy regen off the bat.
now considering protection bond steals 3 energy (-1 from essence bond) every attack, that isn't that bad considering you would have shield of judgement up. that means whenever you DO get attacked, the offender is knocked down.
i even tried this in PVP for giggles and found that being attacked by a warrior (i did not have shield of judgement on) i still always had 10 energy.
the reason i had heal party is because it has no recharge time as opposed to other things, that could be replaced with whatever you like but its there just to aid zealots fire.
oh and i don't like to exploit skills. even ANet believes in farming, but only as long as its honorable.
Ether renewal is one of those skills just itching to get nerfed.
