Patching Strings in UPX packed files.

Hi,

i am currently trying to patch a string in an UPX patched file.
PEiD says its: UPX 0.89.6 - 1.02 / 1.05 - 2.90 -> Markus & Laszlo - packed.
I tried to decompress it using: upx -d <file> but still i couldnt find the specified string in that executable using a hex editor in example.

I know the exact string, but i dont know where it is in that executable and i want to change this string into another string. How is this possible?

PS: When running the file and attaching cheat engine and searching for this string will result in success. Then i am able to change it without problems but i want to change it permanent.
