Bugs:
@zone - used when fighting a mob can leave that mob at reduced hp and unattackable by other players or in the case of nms unreachable.

Treasure Hunter- Is working, but at the same time it can duplicate drops, in effect the extra roll if that's how it works. Can also yield the same item twice.

Server down for Maint:
Until further notice the test server will be down. I have been experiencing far too many system freezes. Which has never happened on that PC. Ever. So for the sake of bug testing I am going to re-format/install the OS. I'm even going to change out the current generic wireless USB wand for an internal PCI card. (tad more stable)

At this rate one would think I was catching up on bugs.. Nope.. Though, while not catching up at least it is making progress.

Update notes: (these will be applied on the next start up)

Fixes:
Vendors will now buy armor for what they are worth. No more 0Gil.
Signet is working: Crystals will drop if players have Signet.

Signet Notes: Conquest Points.
You can trade in crystals and get CP after rank 2. You can also buy CP gear. But the CP system is very buggy and something I need to dig into, eventually. Some NPC's will take crystals some won't (same for the Outpost NPCs and gear). The messages are all screwed up. It's a disaster. So please let me know what NPC's are bugged in the conquest system.

Exploit Fixes:
If you or someone in your party happen to be 10 levels above the target then items/gil/exp will no longer drop.

This is a temp fix as I know in the retail you can still get items if your lvl 75 killing a lvl 10 mob. Which I think is retarded but I'll work on making it a reduced rate instead.

As I said the server is down till further notice. But, it won't take longer then maybe 6hrs to do what I need to do. Till then jump on another server if one is up and I'll get it up and running soon as I can and with the new updates.

@exploit fixes:
This is my two cents, I don't think this is fair at least for items. While i understand your reasoning, I can give you atleast three main reasons not to do it for items.

Crafting- A lot of early crafts synthesis items are based near the starting zones. So sure
i could level a new job? or more time saving i could run around as a high level job one shotting the mobs getting materials. The current exploit patch hurts any crafting attempts we may later need to do.

Fame/Gil- Ok for example the famous sandy fame quest is bat wings. Which at night spawn outside of sandy. You can kill a whole lot right there in one night. Or Bastok with zinc ores for norg fame. Or windy for norg fame with yagudo bead necklaces. Goobues in Pashow for there moss to sell on the ah.

Helping someone else- During my time on retail ffxi, Myself and ls members would help other ls members with norg fame via yagudo necklaces. 300 necklaces is alot... we'd quickly farm them in sets in giddeus. I mean with 2 75's with 60 + 60 sachel of space. That cuts down the time alot and takes alot of stress off those seeking norg fame.

4th Defeats the purpose of Treasure hunter. Treasure hunter on mobs that have multiple chances to drop items. (For crafting or for farming sake to sell on ah). While a 75 may not need the items. What if they sell for some gil and helps out a crafter. Alot of crafters invest into thief so they can get the items they need for gil/to sell or for crafting quickly.

Thanks for the thoughts there Vin.

When I'm done it will be more like the XP, Crystals, Gil, Beastmen seals will hit zero drop rate after a player/party member is +10lvls above the mob.

Then the drop rate for all other items will reduce based on how far above a player is beyond that. (For Example) If an item had a 20% chance to drop then that would reduce 1% per 10 player level. Thief main TH1 would see a .87% and TH2 would get .75 reduction. Now, these are not the actual numbers I'll use because I have to work those out yet. But you get the idea.

Finally since this item drop limit doesn't necessarily apply to retail than this would be a feature that server operators can turn on/off as they see fit. This is something I would have turned on in my server. What others do in theirs is up to them which is why it will be an option and not a forced procedure.

Besides most server ops have the drop rate at like 30+ which is IMO dense. I don't feel the sense of reward or accomplishment when things are just handed out like candy.

For now I'll leave the server as it currently is which includes the vendor armor price fix. The rest of it will wait till I get FFXI installed on the other PC to test in a party atmosphere. Which is after I sleep.

some of your files are probably corrupt. Most if not all the ffxi errors can be googled for suggestions, tips, fixes. That and you'll get faster results then waiting for me or another to respond.

Bug:

-Quest and Mission List:

when i enter in menu and select quest or missions i get the message "preparing date please wait" i wait a 10 minutes and the list never show...

Updates and Notes:

Today I decided that I wanted to get into the crafting system a bit and get that started. Currently I'm waiting for my AH item to not be sold so I have some time. ^^

This is good because I found a nasty bug that was crashing the server when players join a guild. Which is a double bonus because I am testing a auto-restart on the server when it crashes.

Note: If you are on the server when it crashes then send me a PM of what you were doing. It helps me find the problem. Messages saying "servers down" "Server crashed" "Is the server down?" do not help me find the problem. Well, not the problem I am looking for.

Back on the actual subject: Crafting.

Changes: I deleted just about everything and built a base system. Which makes it easier for me to add on to it. Players can join every guild and start crafting. Just as it should be on a free server not out to force players to level up multiple characters in order to generate revenue.

Known Bugs:
Selling to a vendor shows up as 0. /grumble
Fishing is flat out broke.
Skill ups suck. (well not a bug, but bugs me, and not enough to change it.)
No guild is setup on their normal open/closed times/dates. Currently most of them are open 8-23 and are closed on the same holiday. I'll fix this once I look up the values.

I didn't mess with al'zahbi and I may have missed a few NPC's since I never was a crafter. I think I had cooking like 51 or something. So if I did then let me know. At least this much more is in a working state.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the Signet patch was applied. Crystals/xp/gil will drop until you are 10 levels above a mob. At that point they stop. This does NOT affect/reduce any other drops at this time.

DRK Quest giver Gumbah doesn't give you the cutscene to begin the quest, I started at level 36, and he just keeps spamming one phrase
