wow. Umm.. All the download links are in the FIRST post of this thread. There are also a lot of tutorials out there on how to setup a private server. There I go again thinking people would do a little searching. Not rocket science here.
Download the server files.
Extract the files to a directory.
Extract the patch file into same directory
import the /misc/pxidb.sql into your mysql database
edit the pxi.ini in the server directory
- change the username
- change the pass
make sure you install visual c 2008 & visual c 2010 redistributables
run the dlx-pxi-6.5.exe file. server should start.
If not then post what you did, exactly and what the outcome was.

We discontinued working on this server a while ago. We are helping build a new one using a new source (not pxi) called Dark Star. You can find the forums for it here.
The server you were on was simply someone else running one of our last compiled releases. It's decent with a bunch of bug fixes and updates and added features. Nice to see that little message I left in the server did some good at least.
There is no further potential for the pxi server. Or the dlx-pxi updated server. If people want to continue working on the pxi server then the svn is available on the first page. Old, outdated but it is what we started with. I would actually suggest that people go back to 6.4 and start from there. It may be a tad less tampered with.
meanwhile check out the dark star forums. plenty of info there.
