I've been trying to get MXI to work in windower mode 1 but still no luck
Codiddle what os are you running? I'm running win 7
beyond that i cant figure it out
Maybe it's my windower settings? Ie 800x640, 20 sound,1 mip map, hardware mouse, etc etc

I tried both with and without plugins and switched the hook back and forth?
do you have to run mxi as auto login?
what does your FFXI folder look like?

Thanks, everything seems better now. Windower is running with MXI in pseudo-full screen (though also works in a window), equipment works, zones work (with 0.6.4, but not with 0.6.5, but I don't know the differences between them so *shrug*).

EDIT: So on 0.6.4, zones/mobs/npcs/equipment works but no spells. On 0.6.5 spells work, but none of those do. If I update zone settings npcs and mobs would probably work, but then still no equipment...

um i got version 3.42 and moved the hook.dll file to mxi, then overwrote the plugins. i got windows 7 64bit. i also changed it to run as administrator. auto login may work better, but i found it's unnecessary once you get it up and running, for some reason. also, i got 12 sound, i'm not really sure if any of that is relevant though. i did add playonline>data files to the ffxi folder, because i read you had to do that to run mxi7.1. jeez i don't have a lot of time, but the last upload i put on here should've worked. Instead of going back to find my last post, I just took the final product that's been working for me and uploaded it, it has updated Windower Scripts included that may be useful. I didn't include a file to list all of the items but I'll do that once I'm finished. The gear could also use a little tidying up, I just threw it all into 1 gear folder, and 1 weapon folder. I tested and fixed most of the errors I found, but I may have missed some stuff. But if you change or move anything, be sure to change the init.txt to match. Also note that these are not case sensative. There are sets, I did not break them down. So you can summon full Ares's with "/console ares's" but the individual pieces I did not add. If it's an HQ item just add, for instance "/console triumphearring+1." For AF you would type /console RDMAF1+1 or /console NINAF2. I did not add any AF for jobs presented after Rise of the Zilart though. You can summon items by e.g.
/console excalibur
/console Excalibur
or
/console exec weapons/Excalibur
/console exec weapons/excalibur
or by hitting the ` key directly above Tab-Key and entering
Excalibur
excalibur
Just refer to the init.txt in the scripts folder for correct spelling
For zone spelling just type
/console zones
I excluded some zones. I didn't go through them all to see which did and didn't work though.
I hope this works... I have all of the newer plugins and the hook.dll here. It may only work on 6.4, I have no idea.

I tried the mXI included in your repack Tom Neverwinter, and it's working just fine. Scripts are loaded, so is the console on both 0.6.5 and 0.6.4. Thanks.

I did a few more tests, I logged in a few times I got error 10093 in the mXI console. This was in the same instance, I just kept trying my username/pass a few times manually.
Win7 prompted me because this was the first time I had ran it, so I allowed it to connect to Private/Home use.

When I closed it and retried it crashed the first time. But after that it loaded and is running perfect.
Also every time I tried, I typed in the username/pass manually.

After that it's all good. I left the windower and came back without a crash.

I don't think I quite understand the minidatabase. You have to login to it? I typed in mysql root root.
Is that what you're supposed to do? It spammed a bunch of stuff.
Anyhow, it's pretty cool how it loads up and everything. It also says, in a text file, that it connects to 3311 a "nondefault port." Although it still connects to 3306.
I just took the one I'm using from a Light'sHope wow repack from arcemu.org and changed teh 1337 text haha.
Um, I had a ton of errors loading SpireXI to that database. I'm hoping to try out some of .sql files, I also wonder if they're already loaded? Also, I saw you were having problems exporting your database too. Mine keeps doing teh same thing. I haven't tried SQLYog, I've been using HeidiSQL but it still does the same thing. It exports it as 7.5MB and when I reload it from scratch, I'm missing mobs, and some stuff doesn't work. I'll try to run your SQL's and see what happens > I'm about to format anyway, my 160gigs has quickly turned into no gigs. Keep up the hard work Tom!!!

EDIT- I think I get the miniserver/database thingie. I don't have to login, the prompt is just there to load SQL's, amirite, amirite??

I also wanted to add that I haven't seen a list of GMCommands in a long time. I guess it's been since pxi was still around. I found some for 0.6.2, but when I use 1 in particular, it crashes the game. I read that if you used @npcani 0x03 it would kill whatever npc you were targetting, but instead it crashes me
Also, I have found out that @posr # # # is pretty handy, especially if you're stuck behind a wall or something. It's also fun to run around Jeuno and spam @posr 0 -10 0. It's like the game has a jump for a change.
I tried @posr 0 -50 0 and I got stuck in the air. the way I got back down was @posr 0 25 0.
There's also a nifty command for when you die and there's nobody around to raise you. You can type /t test @raise and it will send you a raise 1.
I tried this with /t test @raise 3 but I didn't really check whether or not it worked. It did still send the raise though.
I also found this out. You know, when you aggro something, and it kills you, it just lingers around and you can't raise without dying again? If you type /t test @posr 5 0 0 it'll move you around until you can find a spot where you can raise. It basically just moves you in relation to your current location, unlike @pos which is the devil itself. I haven't tried any other /t test commands, but the /t test @posr one was new to me.
I've also heard @inject mentioned, to inject packets. I'm unsure how to go about doing that though. Just thought this stuff may interest someone.

I haven't tried them all but I have used Utsusemi: Ichi and it worked just fine. Make sure you use 0.6.5.

the repack i posted has all working spells (except those like meteor), and mobs load but are kinda funky. some folders are also unnecessary and can be deleted, like misc2 and scripts2. I didn't clean those up before I uploaded.
If you download the mXI link I posted:
to load spells type /console spells, to load skills type /console skills once in the game. to load zone type /console <zonename> once in the game. to load gear (most gear hasn't been added yet) type /console <itemname> There are not a lot of weapons either, I mostly just added Mythics and Relics. Will update when I have time.

only funky thing about the mobs i have seen is they they just stand still until aggroed or attacked then they will do what they normal do, and some WS dmg is insane lol.

thx for the post of your edited file though i enjoy playing with it

np i'm hoping maybe someone can get some source code rewritten! from what I understand they were working on the CSemaphore rewrite before they closed up shop on 0.6.5. There's even a file in the 0.6.5 source called CSemaphoreRW.cpp If someone could rewrite that... that would be amazing. I'm not sure what happens after that, though or what else would have to be done. I am no programmer.

*Hey guys, good work so far. Anyone check up on the merits and job traits part? I think there is none for these. anyways, its a pain to skill all this weapons, I just wish there is a way to skill it faster. lol

*I got pxi 6.4 only. I notice you guys says version pxi 6.5 works on spells and stuff, where is it? can someone upload it please?

*Sorry for the noobness and all, but where is the POL utilities tools? I was wondering to look up on items list and stuffs, but end up downloading some zones, key items, and item list files from here. I was wondering if I can look it up in the game itself for the list or something. I hope you guys understand my noobee terms. sorry for any confusion. and thank you guys...

I uploaded a megamix repack 1337style.
It includes:
Bin/Hex/Dec calculator (Windows actually has this feature in it's calculator, I recently learned.)
FFXIcalculator
POLUtils
Update - Copied to Program Files/PlayOnline/Square Enix/Final Fantasy XI to update files.
FFXIUpdate - The magical file breaker, to purge FFXI into fixing files and updating them.
dotNetFx35setup
BasicInstructions for guidance. More so for those that still ask questions.

I included an easy to load MySQL.bat file that must be loaded first.

There is a cleaned up version of SpiraXI.exe. This must be ran second. Note: If you want to reset the scripts to default, there is a folder in "scripts" called "trunk." You just have to copy the entire contents and paste them in the "scripts" directory. I wouldn't recommend dragging and dropping them, as you may need them later in case you edit a .lua file and something breaks.

There is an editted mXI0.9.0RC1 file simply called mXI.exe that should not crash when set to run on "NORMAL WINDOWER" mode, allowing the use of plugins and scripts, like the original Windower. This file must be ran last.

There's also a folder with ID's in it.
That's about it.
I forgot to add POL for Windows 7. Maybe I'll do that later. It can just as easily be downloaded by googling PlayOnline Windows 7, and downloaded from the official website.

Note: You need dotNetframework 2.0 or higher for this to work.
You need DirectX 8.1 or higher for this game to run.
You cannot run this game with an integrated graphics card (as far as I'm aware.) There are few exceptions. I have an HP laptop with an Nvidia card. It was integrated, however it supports most games. If you think your graphics card will work, update the drivers and try it out.

Skill 1-42 are as follows:

1: Hand to Hand
2: Dagger
3: Sword
4: Great Sword
5: Axe
6: Great Axe
7: Scythe
8: Polearm
9: Katana
10: Great Katana
11: Club
12: Staff

13-24: Are nothing apparently. Otherwise, they're not on my list.

25: Archery
26: Marksman
27: Throwing
28: Guarding
29: Evasion
30: Shield
31: Parrying
32: Divine Magic
33: Healing Magic
34: Enhancing Magic
35: Enfeebling Magic
36: Elemental Magic
37: Dark Magic
38: Summoning Magic
39: Ninjutsu
40: Singing
41: String
42: Wind

43-47 are nothing, according to my list.

Skills 48-56 are crafting skills.
Skill 57 is Synergy.
@skill 1 2760 would set your skill to 276 (which is the default A+ skill number)
@skill 48 1000 would set your crafting skill to 100. It goes up to Legend (160) I think.
@skill 48 1600 would set your crafting skill to 160.
Also, I have made scripts for these, so all you have to do is type:
//spells
//skills
//excalibur
//ares's
//ninaf2+1
//morrigan's
//usukane's
etc... or the long way:
/console spells
/console skills
/console excalibur
etc... or the longer way:
/console exec gear/Ares's.txt
/console exec weapons/Excalibur.txt
--enter while in the game.
There is 1 other way to use these commands. By hitting the key directly above tab "~ or `" It works whether you hit shift or not. But it'll show some red letters. This is the console. You just type the alias name in here, e.g.
hit the tilde key and enter joyeuse
or enter the tilde key and enter skills

Notice that if you /console exec the filename you HAVE to use correct upper and lowercase. Which makes it easier to just use the alias name for it instead, because it is not case sensative. These names can be found in the mXI>scripts folder in a text file called "init.txt" Every item that's been added by me is in that list. Every zone that I added is in that list. I also did not list every zone. If there was a "test" in the name, or "unknown" it was not added.

Also, if you enter the database I uploaded, you will notice that I did change some things around. I may go back and set it all back to default, but it's a long process of looking up TNL's and things of that sort. I tried to make it so that you could raise the cap to 80 without hindering your skills, or weapon skills, but it doesn't seem to work like I had hoped. I changed the onion weapons, I believe, to be a bit faster and stronger, to make leveling easier. I also changed 75 cap skills to be about 30+ higher than the normal 276, to fix the issue I've been noticing with Accuracy. Hope you have fun anyway.

and there is not a way to look items up in the game, unless you made a list in the windower's script files. That list would have to be pretty **** long though, if you were going to add every item to it. If you've played before and know the name of the items, the aforementioned windower inside that repack has a way to summon gear by typing //byakko'shaidate
//aurum
//ares's
//triumphearring+1
//skadi's
//morrigan's
//burtgang
//rdmaf2+1
//bravura
etc... you would type that in the game and presto
some things need to be fixed though. like, there is a single Aristocrat's coat that should be part of the set. There is also 2 Hachiryu items that are also part of a set.
I have added a lot of the previous 75 cap end game equipment.
But there is new stuff that has been added for the 80 cap and I have no idea how to go about adding it to the database, so please don't ask.

I was looking around for something that would display the modelid's of items, like for the new stuff that's been added to the game and I found this. But this does not find new items, I don't think. I believe they have to be added. The model viewer does not work on my computer, so I'm still trying to figure it out. I've used it before, but I don't remember much about it. I saw an option to export DAT to MQO or something, which is what the 3D edit program uses. So, I imagine you can use the model viewer to find whatever item you're looking for, export it, edit how it looks, then send it back to .DAT format, and plug it back into the game for custom items, and whatever.

The FFXI Mod Community is where I found a bunch of stuff like this-
