[Poll]How long would you botjail/ban players?

This goes out to all owners, PMs, and GMs. If you do not take part in the botjail or banning process on a server, then there is no need to read on.

Not a secret to many of you, but in a future update to EoAdminPanel2 it will be able to botjail (and ban) people for a limited amount of time. Like the acme tool, there will be a drop-down menu of a predetermined list for how long you want them to be punished. A few of them I know many people use and will be included ( 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, 1 month, permanent ) but after that I don't really know what will be useful.

Here is where you can help. Above will be a poll with 10 multiple choice options. Pick which times you think you would use and submit. When picking, remember that these options will be available for both botjail and bans. Thanks for voting!

well that differs from an owner to another ..

some kind hearted owners chose 30 - 2 hours

for me and who i know most prefered bot-jail time is 1 - 3 days , i guess it will be easier to ban someone than bot jail him for 2 - 12 months but this is just a suggestion

1 year is to long, most private-servers even not hold that long....

Options like 1day, 2days, 3days, 1week, 2weeks, 1month, permanently

or 3 options, => 3days, 2 weeks, permanently.

would be nice.

I think bot jail someone for less than 1day is just an use full option.

that is my opinion

however when I wane ban someone permanently I just do it by account.

My system I didn't finish had choices for the user to get out early for a cost but I don't see why you can't make it available to input your own time value into a textbox or you could have a config file that stores available times and load them into a combo box

This would work independently of any built in systems. It would similar to forcer's "wrapper" he has on acme minus all that fancy msg server stuff.

I have used config files in the past, but they are just plain ugly and people usually end up putting in bad values and then complain why it doesn't work. I can already see the complaints when they type in 1 week instead of 7 day because week doesn't work in databases below 5.0.

As for the textbox: While it doesn't look as good combobox, I will eventually have an advanced checkbox that switches the predefined values to a textbox + combobox where the textbox accepts numerical values and the combobox holds all valid time values (minute, hour, day, week...).

My config files for any personaly made app are made/edited by that very program so no need for outside input. You could also make your own file structure to even further prevent outside editing.

As for texbox/combobox you can make the combobox able to take input aswell

I would bot jail for 1-3 days with option of early release. But banning Is atleast 7 days.

4 weeks is exact 28 days.

a month is 30-31 days
