Try to make a Dekaron Privat Server... (NEED HELP)

Hallo.

i am trying to make a dekaron privat server. (Im 100% new at this.)
but there is something i cant figure out...

1. I use windows 7, and some people say "You dont need to use VMWERE" but in the guides on youtube use the program, so what is the right thing to do?
2. What database program should I use... Should i use SQL 2000 or SQL 2008? is there any difference?
3. Where is the best server files, and client etc... (Working...)?
4. Which guide should i follow, to make a server working??

Toasty made a server launcher for win7/win 2008 so you could use that, have to search the forums for it tho

both DB programs work, 2000 is the easiest, but wont work on win7/2008 i dont think

best is a matter of opinion, you should try them all

follow all the guides, study them closely as they will give you valuable wisdom and knowledge

but, ffs, try ur best to find answers by reading posts, searching, and studying stickies, and if that fails feel free to post, but be warned alot of ppl here will know if you searched or read by the questions you ask, and to have 100 post with the simplest questions will really **** some ppl off, i am one of them and i can get quite rude, just a heads up

p.s. warmonger is a glutton for attention and thinks he is gods gift to DK, but in reality he is a dumbass who will steer you into chaos and confusion everytime, i would avoid taking any info from him

i tryed 2000 and it worked on win 7 x64 bit so try 2000 its the easiest

Hello everyone and thanks for your answer. I could use much of it.

I have made my SQL database, but i think the database and server cant run together!?

The guide ([Guide] Ultimate Dekaron Server Tutorial) says that I must write "127.0.0.1" as IP. and I have and I cant start the server...

Edit: Here is a picture of the problem...

Maybe it's something with ODBC (System DSN), because I did not quite understand what he mean.

Hope there is someone who can help with my problem or help me with TeamViewer.

the easy way for ip setting and ussing is hamachi program but this is only for begginers that can't match all ip's or use a wmware

there are many ways to learn how set it up and they all are easy , the tricky part comes when u have to update your server to the latest action and cleaning out bugs

I run my stuff on Win7 with MSSQL 2000. Used MSSQL 2008 previouly but it seems to **** things up once a while.

ya i wish skadadiller concera and seguriper dekaronserver.exe worked with win 7 lol.. the win 7 launcher doesnt work with his exe. ,, hellspider can u fix this ?

No time, besides I always support editing the executables oneself.
