Thank you for confirming that iNK Building a bot from scratch is actually way harder than the code I have at the moment.

As for the other question, I wrote it in Basic for now simply for speed. I can write a program in Basic in half the time than if I was to make it in C++. My plan is to transfer it all over once I have all the basic functionality in the server software done and the spare time.

I will almost definitely have to transfer it over to C++ because these next few threads I'm gonna create are very maths intensive, something that Basic does not cope with well. lol :P

Finally...

a return to what I believe DarkOrbit was originally made for. Very good work, dehack. As usual, you work harder than ppl realize and always deliver. I know someone else who has been honored to help you with this and is very proud of you.

Hopefully, in time, the someone else I know, would love to help you in any and all projects you work on.

Congrats on another job well done.

Yes, at the moment, you're just "trusting" the client's calculations.

And this post was another reference, that you are just a faker.
Please, assbut, do not try to scam us.

@assbut im not calling you a scammer or anything but maybe it would be better if you could show like a video on what you have so far so people would believe you and see your progress.

Just stop asking these dumb questions in public, seriously. You're ruining your new bots image already and its not even released yet.

Look at the video, the program runs in the command line console right?... I shall leave you to figure that one out. The video even shows a huge amount of the source code! iNK has managed to read it since he has correctly gathered that I am simply "trusting" the clients maths at the moment rather than having the server do all the number crunching and then telling that to the client.

I'm still waiting for your video which was meant to be released 6 hours ago.

Good luck,

deHackerOwnz;

You considered the idea of running the project as open-source with a donation facility?.... The forums have a few DO coders, as-well as other DO based forums, read that for the moment; you're not too keen on sharing the code, but it maybe the best way to get more people into the idea of helping, especially seeing as the tasks involved ain't really too hard.

I have considered running the project as open source, and I am still thinking about it. This is kind of what I actually wanted to do since I am running very low on time at the moment. The donations are near to useless because very few people ever donate, but I'm not in it for the money so that doesn't matter.

The trouble with open source is, it takes a lot of organisation else it just falls apart and people just end up stealing the code. If I did make it as an open source project then I'd preferably like a central code database which anyone can contribute to (code modifications will require an admin verification and approval before it is made public). Anyone can then download this central code database and compile/edit as they wish. I would hate for the project to have months of work put in it from a group of people, to then have someone at the end take the source, re-brand it and claim it as theirs.

The ultimate answer is, yes, I am really considering it. Just need to organise it all before anything can happen.
