Help with your freedom.

Hey
I was wondering if anyone knows how to make CO work with your freedom and socks cap.
Im running Windows 7, but i can't get it to work.

Some sort of hack or what?

Conquer works fine on windows 7, even if theres a problem you can turn on Xp compatability mode to remove that issue.

Let me guess you get a blue screen at start?

delete the ztsomthing folder in ur conquer 2.0 folder.

Windows 7 Guide

There are bugs with Windows 7 as Conquer Online is not supported with it -

°º¤øBlue Screen of Death (Crash and Memory Dump)

- Caused by the antivirus program that comes with conquer online, easiest way to fix this problem is to remove the zftqat folder in your Conquer directory. If you accidently open Conquer.exe with the antivirus enabled quickly hit the X to close it.

°º¤øLow FPS and Frequent Freezing

- Running Conquer in Compatibility mode will drop your FPS to around 1-4, make sure compatibilty mode is turned off.

- Low FPS can also be caused by outdated video drivers so update them using vista drivers.

- Setting Conquer.exe's priority to above normal in the task manager can improve FPS and performance. It can also be set to High but can cause Problems and BSOD on low end systems.

- FPS can also be improved by hiding the taskbar. This option is in the Taskbar properties.

- Disabling Aero can also raise FPS and make the game run more stable. It's easily be done by right-clicking the shortcut to CO2, selecting 'Properties' and going to the 'Compatibility' tab.
Select 'Disable Desktop Composition', then apply the changes.
Now Aero will be disabled when running CO2.

°º¤øDirect X Errors

- You need to update your Video Card drivers from the standard ones that come with Windows 7 to the latest Vista drivers.


°º¤øIn-game Buttons Out of Place

- Right click your desktop and click Personalise then click on Display down in the Bottom Left. Then set the scaling to 'Smaller - 100%' and Apply.


°º¤øPerformance and Stalling Issues on Quad Core PCs

- This can be fixed by going into Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), clicking on the processes tab, finding Conquer.exe and right clicking on it then clicking Set Affinity and then set it so that only the first two processors are selected. (The person I suggested this to said he got a major increase in performance, though I haven't tested it myself I'm on dual core)

°º¤øThe windows just closes with/without error
-This is most probably caused by outdated codecs first try uninstalling whatever codec pack you have installed and try playing, if you can play without it installed try finding a newer version of it if you are not sure if you have codecs installed try CCCP Insurgent
If it's not caused by codecs post a new thread.

I might have left out some, I will add if I come across any, Or if you have another problem post it and I'll try to help you and fix it.

Contact your school IT team and ask them if your allowed to play games in school. I HIGHLY doubt they will allow it, and since i work as a member of the IT support team for a school, i wont help you any further either, sorry.

bull....if virtual machine is downloaded and installed with an operating system on it(or if either is allowed for him to download and install) more often then not it isnt admin blocked like the main os due to the low amount of memory alloted to it and the dual firewall set up. the IT dep at my college and my bros college (a diff one in a diff state) overlook the vm security settings.
grade school on the other hand may actually have ppl that know what they are doing ...to prevent pedos ect... and as for the royal ***** that used to be a school IT tech he needs to let it go.
...oh and btw my win 7 x64 wont play co with any of the edits for some reason. aero off, tried xp mode,vista mode(both with each of the service packs), dpi set at 100, codecs gone... then reinstalled...

I assume your talking about me?

I still work at a school, in england, and we tend to take our security pretty seriously. A school is a place for learning not for playing games.

So what?! Your saying that you can run another operating system on your computer?! That's definitely going to help...

All I know is that at my school the IT department were strict as hell when it came to security as we all had laptop computers. Try getting past Novell, I tried for around 3 years.

It depends entirely upon the school, county and country.

At the school i work at for example, the internet connection is actively monitored by us, it goes through our own ISA server and a Smoothwall proxy, its then routed to the central proxy at county hall and travels through an entire series of firewalls and proxys before reaching its destination.

So it depends entirely on the school.
