I've looked at the dds images and there isn't any uniform transparent color (such as bright pink for some program skins)
What color is used as transparent?
Is there an alpha layer to do transparency?

The colors TQ used are white and black on a alpha layer.
For semi transparent: You would add a new alpha color (light gray) and make the trans. 15% (just an example mess with this to make different opacitys)
For full transparent: Like im doing you need to magic wand tool the area's you want to keep solid and copy that highlighted area to the alpha layer and then fill the area's with the transparent color in this case thats black.
Hope that answers your question...
And for everyone else...
