For super gems you would link it to a calculation in your attack handler.
Basically the source should count super gems socketed in your equipment and use it as a multiplier for calculating if an effect is displayed or not (lets say 1 percent chance per attack per super gem) Then just run the calculation and display effect accordingly. If it's placed in along with where attacks are already being handled it will automatically only occur in attacks and recur properly. Not a hard thing to do. you could always check older sources like CoEmu or the old lotf to see how to code it.
It wasn't meant to be a release but a guide to help those who wanted it and to maybe fix it up themselves, the code works perfectly, you can see the effect but if someone else is doing it you can't which negates spamming it I guess.
I saw people looking on how to add it and just wanted to help and yes I'm fully aware there are parts of the code missing and if people want to add those parts they can, all I did was give them somewhere to start.

I hope you don't think I was insulting you.
I was just pointing that out before people started copying and pasting.
Sorry if it sounded like a flame.
