Hey, seriously, stop! The guy (Chingchong) is just asking for some help here deciding what source that would be a good ground to start or continue with. You guys (mostly Yuki & Pete) are flaming both andy's and tanel's coding, but seriously none of you could do better as you both use tanels source(s) (doesn't matter how much you "edit" them), and Andy > Tanel.
So, Chingchong, if you're really serious and dedicated about this project, and looking for a second coder, I might be intrested in joining in, got a lot of experience on my back and could contribute with a whole lot. Give me a PM if you feel intrested!
Gl to this project!

hmm emme, i sort of aimed for higher standards, however i know you have a lot of experience around this community and a lot of conquer knowledge, you could be of great help in content, so sure, hope you know how to commit changes to svn etc.
So i just tested out some content looking for bugs, when creating a team and inviting someone, the team leader's team avatar screen does not get updated with the new member, also can't view equips (i thought coemu had all these features? guess not).
i'm going to start messing with the threads & sockets now.

base coemu has no real features.
- Almost no skill coding (needs to be re-worked to add them in in a way that makes sense logically)
- Teams are not very complete
- No guilds
- no gw/pvp events
- no view gears
- no warehouse pass
- no trade
- no vending
- no mentor/friend/enemy/trade partner
- no free/item lock/composition/fan composition
- no quiz show
- no mining
- no proper dmap system
- no proper mob/item floor system so things like to stack/fall where they shouldn't
Basically everything you need has been released in other source versions but they are all a huge mess.

But wasn't the reason that you used this because you assumed that it had a lot of features?

That's why I'd suggest going with hybrids basic source and upgrading it to 5095 (so you have options for alot more features).
From what I've looked at it. Hybrids is already incredibly well coded, it just has no built in features. You can grab basically any encryption or packet processing code you need from coemu and simply re-write it to work without that much of a trouble and you would most likely end up with a much, much better server.
Note: Hybrids is even more basic when it comes to features... I think the most they had working was equipping items, movement, possibly warehouses... and maybe basic attacking?

Yah lotf (both versions) are a complete mess... I'd take coemu over them any day even though I realize fully that coemu is far from perfect.

I'll be in if you want help - you seem to be decently organized.

Can a Community Project work out ?
08/03/2009 - Rappelz - 25 Replies
I am just thinking about the possibility to setup a community project to develop a Bot for Rappelz.
But I don’t want to upload already compiled full working exe files for this.
Instead I just want to publish the source code and everybody has to compile the final version on his own!
My main motivation is to inspire the people to learn a programming languages. :D
Can this work ?
Are here some people that want to help with this task ?
