Needing a Classic Source.

Sup guys, I've been playing Classic-Conquer which is a 5165 source with new things removed, I decided to open a classic server....

Does anyone has any fixed classic version or a 5165 without new systems there and everything like classic?

Fang, yes I did, and all of them aren't complete and has some bugs, I'd like a 5165 using classic systems, like, no socket npc, no cps, etc, as "Classic-Conquer" is.. Because the gameplay seems better, those sources 4767, 4274 doesn't has everything on it.. just basic scratch coding..

There is no such thing as a completed, bugless source in the community at this time.

If you want to run a proper server you will need to be comfortable enough with programming (or scripting) to fix up bugs and add features throughout the lifetime of your server.

You can sum up the public releases into two categories.

#1: Failed sources/projects which were released when the developer decided they were not worth the work to fix (includes 5017 and 5165 lotf sources, most 5095 coemu projects, my hellmouth and albetros sources and more)

#2: Base sources designed for people to use as a framework to build their own server on. They contain less or no features but are stable and contain few or no major issues. This includes things such as impulse's original 5165 base, original coemu (however lacking it was, it was a good base for its time), hybrid's various releases and my 5065 redux source.



No matter what you go with, you need to be willing to put the effort in to turn these into a working server ready for actual deployment.

Which category does mine fall into then pro4never? It's neither a base nor failed.

To me failed covers abandoned projects as well. I simply use 'base' as a way to differentiate sources that are mostly complete (such as hybrid's 3rd source, albetros, 5165/5017 ncos, etc) from those that still need large numbers of game systems to be added (redux, 5017 hybrid, 5165 impulse, etc)


Hmm... now I'm kinda tempted to release the upgraded redux cause I did finish a large portion of it for a customer but he's never messaged me back since... I'd say it's been long enough that it's not rude to release it.

Well not really abandoned it either, just not gonna open a server with it, but yeah I get you
